A/N Hey guys, this is a flashback chapter. I thought I'd tell you beforehand just incase you got confused! I hope you enjoy!
________
Students began to pile into the class as the school bell rang. Jack had already taken his seat at the far side of the class, he decided not to sit right up front, in case people thought he was a nerd, but he didn't want to sit near the back either, he was still a good student. He had manners, and he didn't want teachers to think he was sitting up the back so that he could be mischievous. It was the first day of his Junior Year of high school, and he wanted the rest of his school life to go by without a hitch. He'd happily fly under the radar if need be.
The class was almost full, friends chattering about what they had done since they last saw each other, and still Jack sat lonely and anxious. He didn't want to be disliked, but people hadn't even paid him any attention as they walked in, bright eyed and eager to learn, it seemed. It was as if he was invisible, despite his newly dyed hair.
Minutes passed, and there seemed to be no sign of another student entering the class, so the teacher decided that it was about time to start the class, but she hadn't even began to say her first word when someone rounded the corner and sauntered casually into the class, muttering a half hearted apology as he strolled by the teacher, and earning a grunt of displeasure in return.
The boy scanned the class, a few locks of his chestnut coloured hair falling over his eyes as they travelled back and forth, eyeing up the remaining available seats. He glanced momentarily at Jack, his deep brown eyes connecting with Jack's ocean blue ones for no longer than a second, before he began to look again, but stopped shortly afterwards, his eyes backtracking until they were once again on Jack.
He must have decided on a seat, as he began to walk towards the window side of the class, and fell back into the empty chair beside Jack.
The teacher began to reintroduce herself, glaring at the boy momentarily before she began speaking, but the boy didn't listen to what she had to say. Instead he looked directly at Jack, who looked ahead at the teacher, fully aware that the boy was staring, and growing more uncomfortable by the second.
Eventually he gave up, and looked back at the boy, whose stare didn't falter. He was smiling widely, his head tilted to the left slightly, sizing up Jack's features, and evidently liking what he saw.
"You're new here?" He asked politely, maintaining his original warm smile. It was more of a statement than a question, and so Jack just nodded succinctly in reply, struggling a little to retain eye contact.
The boy chuckled slightly, "Shy, are ya?" He joked lightheartedly, causing Jack to nod again, this time a little more confidently. "Don't worry, I won't bite," the boy said with a laugh.
A few seconds of silence passed as Jack was at a loss for words, he never was very skilled at making friends. The teacher continued to drone on monotonously, now only a background noise in Jack's head. The boy began to speak up again.
"I'm Will, by the way." He said with a smile, holding out a hand, which Jack took graciously and shook.

Jack lay on the soft carpeted floor, struggling for air as he laughed hysterically, tears running down his face and his legs kicking out frantically. He was clutching his stomach as though he were in immense pain.
"Stop it! Will! Stop-ho-hop", he yelled, struggling to find a gap in his laughter in order to say that.
Will sat back in his computer chair, gazing absentmindedly at the posters that lined the walls in his room, his cheeks hurting from the wide grin that had been plastered on his face for the past ten minutes.
