A/N Ok really short this is back to normal time now, like a continuation from 'Reveal'. I hope you enjoy it!
________
They made their way out of the woods together. Jack could still sense that Mark was cautious of him, and he understood that completely. He was willing to do anything for Mark, as long as it meant that they could keep their relationship going strong, and if that meant not taking things too fast while Mark adjusts to the... news, then that was what Jack planned to make happen.
Mark was never very talented at hiding his feelings, and so he knew straight away that Jack had caught onto his discomfort. He wanted nothing more than for things to be normal between them, but he needed time. Despite this, the tense silence that hung over them became almost unbearable, and Mark was determined to end it.
Mark extended his hand, taking Jack's lovingly, intertwining their fingers and smiling sweetly at the werewolf. Jack was slightly taken aback, he even got a little emotional when he saw that Mark still wanted to share any form of physical contact with him just minutes after witnessing what he did, but he tightened his loose grip on the other's hand to show his appreciation for Mark's open mindedness.
"You're still the same person to me, Jack." Mark muttered supportingly as the two headed back to Jack's apartment, still hand in hand.
---
As soon as they got in the door, they decided to order thai food. Mark looked excited to play games, but Jack had another idea in mind, and led Mark instead into the living room. He tried his best to remain optimistic as he sat Mark down, but he knew that before long it would become impossible not to let his emotions out.
Mark looked up at Jack, concerned, as Jack prepared himself to spill everything. He knew that the relationship wouldn't work with secrets, and he owed Mark an explanation for what he had just showed him in the woods.
And so he started from the start. When it all began, how he got the bite in the first place. He could feel his voice becoming shakier and more frail as he continued to relive his past, knowing that it wouldn't be long before he broke down. He had never spoken to anyone about what happened back in Ireland, not Will, not even Isaac.
Mark gave Jack his undivided attention throughout the story, hanging onto every word and not failing to maintain eye contact as he knew just how hard it was for Jack to do what he was doing. He held Jack close when he spoke about his mother and father, gently rubbing his back to ease his sobs, assuring him that if it was too much, he didn't have to keep going, but Jack insisted.
He spoke about everything that had happened up to the exact point that they were sitting on that very couch. He spoke about Colton, about his parents, about Will and the reason they hated each other. For Jack, it was exhausting, mentally and emotionally, but once he had finished, and he was sitting in silence with his head rested on Mark's shoulder, staring at the wet patch that his tears had made on the poor guy's shirt, he felt as if a weight had been lifted off his shoulders. He felt almost like he was free to be himself.
He didn't have to hide his past anymore, at least not from Mark, or Isaac, who he'd tell sometime soon, and that meant the world to Jack.
Mark decided that since Jack had trusted him with his past, something that he was probably desperate to forget, it was only fair to return the favour.
Jack gave Mark the same support and attention that he had received when he was talking. He cried alongside Mark when he spoke about his mother and brother, comforting him to the best of his abilities.
After they had both shared their pasts, and finished crying, they decided to put on a movie, not really to watch it, just to fill the silence that was left behind when Mark's story had ended.
Neither of them paid much attention, and before long, Jack found himself lying flat on his back, staring blankly at the screen, but paying more attention to Mark's soft snores. Mark hadn't made it ten minutes into the film before falling asleep on Jack's chest.
Jack smiled down at his boyfriend. For once all he felt was happiness and relief. Nobody had ever made him feel as special and as loved as Mark did, and for that he was more than grateful. He kissed Mark softly on the top of the head and put his arms around him, hugging the sleeping man closer into his chest. Jack could stay like this forever.

Laurel made her way cautiously back home from the woods, her brain working a mile a minute trying to figure out the best way to present the information she had just gathered. It seemed too perfect. What made it even better was that she had no emotional bond with Jack, and so it wouldn't be hard for her to give up his little secret.
The only reservation she had in her mind, was whether this made her a bad person in general. It was obviously something that Jack was insecure about, heck, he's been friends with Mark since the beginning of the school year and he's only just showing him now? She tried to push the thought out of her mind. This was the only way to redeem herself.
Laurel walked into the door of her house, being acknowledged but not greeted by her father. Instead, he glanced nonchalantly in her direction before returning his attention to the book he was reading. Normally, Laurel would take this as an indication to vacate the room before her mere presence evoked a negative reaction from the short fused little man, but this time she stayed put, edging cautiously into the room.
Her father's patience was wearing thin, and it showed in his body language, as he eventually rolled his eyes and set the book down on the table, turning irritably in his seat so that he was facing his daughter.
"What do you want?" He said, his voice sharp and to the point.
Laurel's smile widened confidently as she made the final decision to tell him everything she saw.
She watched in contentment as her father's expression transformed from a disinterested peevish scowl to a hungry satisfaction. His eyes sparkled maliciously with hope and optimism as he listened to what she had to say.
When she had concluded telling of her findings, her dad had almost fallen off the edge of the seat, his lips curled upwards crookedly as his eyebrows knitted together.
"I've waited a long time to make that animal pay for what it has done." He whispered, patting Laurel on the shoulder before leaving the room, allowing her to bask in the triumph of winning back her father's appreciation.
