CHAPTER SEVEN
WISHES
NORA ONLY HAD TO WAIT two weeks until she herd from the University of South Carolina and to her surprise she was excepted with high honors to the University, she couldn’t be happier. She would get to stay in Columbia, she wouldn’t have to move. Nothing had to changed, everything could stay the same, perfect as it is. She would stay in Columbia with Jack.
Since the day she had gotten her letter of acceptance, she had read it so much that she knew it word for word;

Nora was so absorbed in her acceptance to the University that she was completely unaware about her mothers plans, nor was she aware that she had also been excepted to Sarah Lawrence. Ethel was pleased with her job with the application. She hadn’t written one in many years and was not surprised to see that they hadn’t changed much.
As soon as Nora had gotten her expectance letter to the University. Ethel immediately started to think up ways to get Nora to New York.
One that she though of and elaborated on to the extent that she actually put into action. Ethel thought that is she was excepted- the academy is in New York- then she would be going to New York. That is half way to Sarah Lawrence she would be in the same state. But then she would be spending all of her time doing Ballet, and that would just annoy Ethel more.
Instead of the people coming and Nora being excepted Ethel thought that if the people from the academy didn’t come to her performance then she wouldn’t be excepted at all. Nora would be depressed with ballet and not want to do it anymore than she wouldn’t want to stay in Columbia then Ethel would tell her about Sarah Lawrence and then she will want to go. Nora wouldn’t be doing ballet and she wouldn’t be with Jack.
Tonight was Nora’s concert, in a couple of hours Nora would have to get up on stage and perform for hundreds of people. Not just her family and friends but two people from the American Ballet Academy whom were coming to watch her perform and see if their would be a place available for her at their academy. Nora spent the whole day with Jack shaking dreading the night time which came too quickly, then usual. Nora felt that time was against her, it annoyed her so much that she was actually considering hiding in her closet which Jack had convinced her otherwise already and might have to do again.
