Her face still stinging from when her father had hit her, she growled back at both of them. Her father grabbed the repels of her jacket, swinging her and pushing her against the wall. "Don't growl me, Maia you know better than that to treat me in that way", he yelled. She wasn't touching the ground, her legs were swinging under him. She gasped, catching her breath, still shocked by the strength of her father. Her father dropped her and she crawled back on the bed, Sebastian seized at Maia holding her arms and father injected a serum into her neck, she groaned pain and fell unconscious, Sebastian holding her lifeless body.

Maia woke up on the sofa with Jonathan sitting next to her, watching the television, changing channels. "Jonathan", she whispered. Jonathan reacted and helped his sister get into a sitting position on the sofa. "Jonathan, I thought I was fine, but father he was with me", she said quickly. "Maia it's fine just relax now", he said. Maia was carried by her brother into her room, putting her in bed.

Jonathan walked out the room and sat back on the sofa, he heard a glass smash and walked towards the broken glass. "Jonathan", it was his father's voice. Jonathan spun around taking a knife from the kitchen drawer holding it against his father's throat. "Jonathan, didn't I tell you not play with knives you could hurt yourself", he said gracefully. "Why are you here?", he growled. "I am here to have a little chat with you", his father said. "I don't want here anything you have to say", he roared. His father sighed. "Even if it involved you're sister", his father finished. Jonathan flinched he couldn't help it.

"What have you done to her?", he questioned. "Nothing, yet", he replied. "And this not about me, it's about you and her", he added. Jonathan let the knife fall to the ground, clattering against the wooden floor. "I know everything about you Jonathan and I know how you have weakend", his father said. "You don't know anything about me", he yelled back. "Not even about your fears, because that is what weakens you, fear...", his voice was becoming more sinister as he spoke, "...What you fear the most, is the love you have for your sister". Jonathan stumbled backwards. "You have grown soft towards her, over protective towards her, something your mother was towards her and Matthew", his father said in his cruel tone. He never talked about their mother, not once, since she was killed. "You don't know anything", Jonathan screamed. "I know the way you look at her, even if I'm not there, you may think think I don't feel anything that I can't feel feeling, but that doesn't mean I can't feel emotion between others", "For example, your sister when she was with me, I could smell the fear off her, the horror in her eyes was clear as crystal, I could feel the shock on her skin that she didn't move, she was cold, frozen you could say and worst part was is that she called out for you and you just walked away, that is when you were the perfect solider, perfect example, perfect son....". His father's words shook him, he was never more scared than he was now, the monster he was, how obsessive and protected he was over his sister, how didn't realise before. Jonathan picked up the knife and went to slit his father's throat but his father grabbed his arm before the knife even touch his throat. His father threw him across the room and walked out the door, Jonathan pulled himself up and saw his father was nowhere to be seen, he was gone, like dust.

Jonathan rushed towards his sister's room and saw her sleeping, she was peaceful. Jonathan couldn't help himself feeling an obsession towards her, how he wanted to all protect her, even when she put herself in danger. Maia woke up and moaned, "Jonathan, what happened?", she questioned. "Nothing", he lied and walked straight out of her room. Maia jumped out of bed and rushed towards her brother. "Jonathan, I known you for my entire life, I know when you are lying to me", she said while folding her arms. "I'm not lying", he said, he was lying, she knew it. "Jonathan", she growled. "Maia, it's father he was here, don't worry, he didn't do anything", he admitted. "Alright, what shall we do?", she said. "Nothing", he said. Maia didn't want to cause a problem, so she decided to say nothing. "Jonathan, I'm going out tomorrow, with William", she said. He nodded. Maia walked back to her room. Jonathan walked back to his room. They were both lying to each other, Maia lying about Sebastian and Jonathan lying about what their father was saying.

*FLASHBACK*

"Maia, hurry up", Jonathan yelled from down the stairs. "I'm coming", she screamed. "How long is the journey?", she asked. "Two hours, minimum", he replied. "Is father already in the car", she asked. "Yes, along with Matthew", he finished. "It's a shame mother couldn't come because of work", she added. "It downtown matter, let's just focus on the nice weekend we are going to have", Jonathan said. "Yes, Jonathan", he whispered. She was almost scared of his presence. After ten minutes Jonathan and Maia jumped in car and father started to drive. Matthew was playing with his game boy and Jonathan was at the front of car with Maia. Matthew was the first to fall asleep then Maia. She woke up but didn't move, she was overhearing her brother's and father's conversation. "She will be ready soon, just a few more tests and we need find excuses as well", her brother whispered. "Jonathan, we only have a three weeks, she will be ready otherwise it would be more painful, for her", her father explained. Jonathan nodded, Maia pretend to wake up and yawned. "How long do we have?", she asked.
