A long awaited day, has finally made its presence.
Today is Ariana's 16th Birthday.
She is awoken by the sound of her own cheerful thoughts, and the luminosity of the sun that gleams through her white, but stained, curtains.
Mounting out of bed, she grabs her phone only to discover a multitude of messages coming from all sorts of people around her town.
The popularity of her past and current presence, certainly shines through, when reading them with fascination, as no one seems to have ever taken that much interest in her before.
A smile that's been lingering in the air for almost 12 years, has finally slapped her around the face.
She bounds around her room, sending the creeks trapped within the wooden floor boards crazy.
She grips on to her ocean-blue, cotton dressing gown, and elegantly swipes it around her body. All this is followed by a fastened trip down the stairs and in to the kitchen.
She's never usually this hyperactive in the morning, in fact, she never really is this cheery at all. But knowing her father has agreed to take her back to Rosewood today, sends chills up her spine.
She launches herself in to the kitchen, where her father is sipping his steaming coffee, and is dressed in a suit.
"Dad!" She says and practically jumps in to his arms.
The widening of his eyes shows off his astonishment, to what has just occurred. Firstly because she approached him with the use of the name 'dad' , which doesn't happen often, and secondly because of the affectionate way she's currently hugging him."Happy Birthday! Are you alright Ari?" He questions in a way of nervousness, but while his belly rumbles in excitement.
"Yeah, I'm fine. In fact I'm more than fine, I'm getting constant chills about the fact you're taking me to Rosewood today. Literally nothing else is on my mind."
"Well.... are you sure you want to go darling? It is known to be a dangerous place, and I'm not even sure if we'll be allowed in anymore." The sudden doubt of her father, hits Ariana like a gun shot. She forcefully lets go of him, and steadily steps back in utter disbelief.
"But... but where has this come from? You've never had doubts before?"
"Well.... if I'm honest, I thought that when it actually came round to your birthday you wouldn't want to go anymore."
There's a slight pause as silence lingers in the air. This unexpected curveball builds up much anger inside of Ariana. Now knowing her father never had faith that she was going to keep her promise, and now the fact he's letting his promise slip.
"But you can't do this to me. I've waited for 12 - long - years for this day. I'm going and I don't need you to take me." There's a sudden pause as Ariana stares at her dads suit, and suddenly realises that's not a uniform she's ever seen him in before. "Why are you wearing that?"
She starts backing away towards the stairs even more, and the crinkles in the middle of her forehead forcefully express her upset and confusion.
"Well... I've got this work thing today- "
"But you don't wear that to work? You're a fire fighter?"
"It's a meeting. A very important meeting in fact. I'm sorry I should have told you, but I'll be back later in time for your birthday tea."
Her soul roars with anger as her heart suffers inmense pain from her fathers hurtful news. Treating her as if she's a child. And right now she has to be careful with what she says ... and does. All that sails through her mind, is the thought of wishing to have control over humans as well. But she focuses on to the next best thing. The coffee cup.
With her eyes locked on it's stained surface, she awaits until it's being handled at a suitable position. Then, she uses her ability to flip the cup with her mind, resulting in hot coffee pouring all over his deep red tie, and clean swept, white shirt.
An exasperation feeling overwhelmes his mind, causing him to glare and grunt in anger, and shouts "not my suit! I have to go soon!"
But yet, doesn't look at Ariana, not even a small amount of suspicion. She hides it well. But deep inside she just wants to let out the truth. At an electric pace, Ariana reverses her journey back up to her room.
Going alone to Rosewood is an inadequate choice. It seems as if her father has retracted his promise to take her, which results to Ariana messaging some close friends of hers.
