Rosewood and the legend of the Unicorn

Chapter 26- A Battle For Rosewood

Ariana, Ashton and Falcon make it outside the house and head towards the town centre. It is a large open space, often filled with markets on special occasions, but at the moment it remains empty, awaiting for the next event.

However, right this second, Nixon has been pulling people from their homes and away from their jobs so that they can all gather in the town centre. Without telling them what it is about, they all unnervingly agree and follow Nixon. Nixon went to Mady, a dear friend of his and Falcons, and even got his ex-wife Bexley to assist him.

Eventually, after what seems like no time at all, everyone is gathered and chatting away to eachother with fearful expressions.
"Well what is it then!" An angry man shouts from the distance amongst the muffled sound of hundreds of voices.
"Yeah!" They entire crowd replies simultaneously and turning and pointing at Nixon, Mady and Bexley trapped in the middle of the crowd. 
To all their relief, Ariana's voice can be heard from close-by.
"I have something to tell everyone!" Ariana shouts as she pushes herself through the crowd. She eventually makes it into the centre and by now everyone has separated and formed a giant circle around her, Ashton, falcon, Bexley, Nixon and Mady.
But it's not long before Falcon runs back in fear and embarrassment, joining the rest of the conffudled crowd.
"Now you may not want to believe me, but you're just going to have to trust me."
Fortunately, the Town of Rosewood is small enough where Ariana's voice echoes off buildings close-by so everyone can hear her. Her voice also seems to be magnified to an abnormal volume, which is perfect for the current situation, even if right now there's no explanation for it.
"You have been lied to for you're entire lives! Since the day I've got here, I have felt very welcomed by everyone, and I knew immediately that this is where I belong... But there is one person who still hasn't accepted my arrrival. And never will! And that is our Mayor, Ridge Hawthorne." People in the crowd begin muttering and gasping st Ariana's comments. "I have spent my few months here trying to figure out why he dislikes me, why people are still cautious around me. And it's not because I used to live with the humans. It's because I have more powers than I should, I have more souls than I should. And I think most of you knew it from the beginning..." people continue muttering to eachother but the voices start getting louder and people begin looking angry and getting more confused, so Ariana has to raise her voice even more "There is a ROSE! A very special purple rose that is supposed to be in the garden of secrets. It was removed by Ridge Hawthorne and he never told anyone why. But you all just accepted it because he's your 'trustworthy' Mayor. Well I happened to come across that Rose when Ridge invited me to his castle one day. He was hiding it in a room in his office and I soon found out why! Me and Ashton used the Rose and we traveled back in time to witness the day and the reason we are all here! And why Rosewood exists. You're correct, we witnessed the true legend of the Unicorn. And it is a fact, that Dragons have changed the legend to make you all believe they're the ones who were destined to be in power. When in fact, UNICORNS ARE!"
But as she belts out those last few words, the crowd begins going crazy and everyone screams out different things "HOW CAN YOU SAY SOMETHING LIKE THAT WHEN YOU HAVENT EVEN BEEN HERE YOUR WHOLE LIFE!"
"SHE'S LYING!"
"UNICORNS ARE EVIL WE'VE KNOWN THAT FOR HUNDREDS OF YEARS!"
"UNICORNS HAVE KILLED SO MANY INNOCENT PEOPLE!"
Ariana begins feeling smaller and smaller as more and more people attack her with words, and threatening fists.
But amongst the uncontrollable madness, a small voice emerges which seems to silence everyone immediately.
"She's telling the truth..." says a young girl, carrying a book swiping the dust away from it.
She walks out of the crowd and everyone's attention is averted to her view. And Ariana immediately recognises her. "Tatum?" She says in an ecstatic but concerned voice.
Tatum, one of Ariana's mer- friends, walks up to Ariana slowly, everyone's eyes glued on to her every movement.
As soon as she's close enough, she throws herself into Ariana's arms and gives her a loving friendly hug.
"I've got your back Ariana."
"Thanks Tatum." Ariana hugs her back with a relieving tear streaming down her face.
