"I've always wanted to believe that things weren't just what they were. That what we see with the naked eye, is all there is to see. I've always felt like, the closer we look, the less we see. "
Ariana would often express her peculiar thoughts and emotions, by saying things repetitively like this to her friends and to her parents. Although, no one could really grasp her intentions through what she was talking about. But then again, they weren't her real parents.
Ariana had the generic sad background, which involved the unintentional abandonment by her parents at the tender age of four. Fortunately, though, she was soon adopted by an unconditionally loving family. She has always known she was adopted but never knew why.
The mysterious death of her parents twelve years ago, left the whole world shook up forever.
Their corpses, inevitably, were never found. The only thing that was left of Ariana's family was, Ariana.
The unfathomable situation occurred in a quiet town, almost unheard of to man at the time. Non-existent on all British maps, the town made its first famous appearance after an unforeseen fire struck the town and left no evidence of survivors.
Expect one little girl...
Ariana Dawson.
She was found, not wallowing, but just situated in silence, fixated on the burning mess that surrounded her innocent eyes.
A firefighter who first attended the scene, took her back to his town. Though a family was not to be found for this lonely little girl down at the orphanage. She knew nothing of her past and what family she belonged too. All she could remember was her name, it was cemented in her brain, as if everything else was washed away through the flames that night.
All were too fearful of her background, and the mystifying town she came from.
However, the firefighter, Andy, grew an unbreakable bond with this girl. He eventually decided to bring her home and adopt her for good.
Now 16, Ariana's life never straightened out to the point of being 'normal'.
Despite, long, dark brown, curly locks, flawless skin and angelic blue eyes, she remained in the back seat. Others tremulous over the secrets she possessed.
Rosewood was the name of the town Ariana had begun her life in, but never did anyone become aware of the possible secrets it held until the day of the fire.
The only things that were left of her town for others to find were mountains of rubble, the odd photo album, or a box filled with alien-like possessions. It's been a site for science enthusiasts for many years. But humanity recently reached a point of leaving the town in its desolating past and concluding that maybe its secrets were a little too far out of a scientist reach.
Ariana grew up, knowing little of her town. But she never questioned the night it all happened.
A tragedy was what she was named. A girl who never really seemed to recover, and a girl many believed still had dark secrets locked inside of her.
It didn't take long for Ariana to know she was special. By the time she was eight, she worked out she possessed control over lifeless objects. Anything lacking a soul, she could move without the sense of touching it.
Although she doesn't believe it to be a 'power'. It's just something that happens, and she has control over.
A smart girl she was, by keeping this a secret. Eight more years and her powers only grew stronger.
She didnt know how or why she could do things the other children couldnt, and often felt very alone in the world. But she surely couldnt be the only one, could she? She didnt know the answer, but she believed more answers lied in her perplexing town of Rosewood. A place she'd feared of going back to for many years, but for her 16th birthday, she officially felt ready. Ready to return to unravel who she really was. And to understand if she really is, all alone...
