Yay! another update!
"What the hell?" I asked, furious.
Peter raised his eyebrows.
"What do you mean, 'Bravo'?"
I yelled, pushing at his chest. He didn't budge. "Was this some fucking game to you? Did you plan this whole thing?" I shook my head in exasperation, his expression pissing me off even more, "My God, will you stop it!" I yelled.
He looked confused, "Stop what?" I gestured to his face, "raising your eyebrows like that, it's like you've got them on marionette strings like fucking Pinocchio or something!"
He rolled his eyes, "I didn't plan this, since you asked before you insulted my eyebrows, but I did know what they were doing. After all, this was my island. Nothing happens here without my knowledge of it."
I couldn't believe this, "So what you're telling me is that you could've stopped them, but instead you thought it would be more fun to have me run around the woods in a towel like an idiot?" To my satisfaction, my voice came out smoothly with a tone cold enough to freeze the desert.
Peter, however, didn't seem to notice, which made me very angry. I hated not being able to affect him with anger like that. Sometimes I forgot he was considered evil.
"You know you could have just wished for clothes."
Scratch that, maybe my dirty looks did work on him.
He held his hands up in defense, "Sorry, but to answer your question, yes, I could have stopped them from taking your clothes, but I wanted to see how you'd handle the situation. And I must say; I'm quite impressed.
No. I was not going to stand here and take this.
"You know, Pan. Your games are pretty fucking sick, and I'm really not in the mood to play them. I mean, I just woke up from a coma. I've been on an adrenalin rush this whole morning, but now I really don't want to deal with this shit, ok?"
"I... I'm sorry?" He said, "I didn't realize it was such a big deal."
"Oh, right." I scoffed,
"Because taking a girls clothes, and making her run naked through a forest isn't a big deal at all."
He stared at me, "Kate."
"You know, Peter," I interrupted, "I just need some time to cool off."
I walked past him before he could reply, but I didn't get very far.
My foot caught an old, scrawny stump, sticking out of the ground at an awkward angle, and I, being the klutz I was, fell face foreword into the dirt, my arms flailed out as I fell, and I could feel the towel just barely covering me still.
Hastily, I stood up, cheeks burning, and straightened out, marching off into the woods without so much as a word or a glance.
Peter's POV
I watched as Kate walked off into the woods.
“God, doesn’t she know the meaning of the word, ‘joke’?” asked Slightly from behind me.
“Shut up!” I turned on him. Silently, he stared at me in shock.
“My God...” I said, turning around, my hands in my hair. This morning had started out so great. I wish I’d thought this through a bit more. I wasn’t lying; I was interested in how she would handle the situation, but I’ll admit, it hadn’t even occurred to me that she would react like this. When I realized what they were doing I was curious, but I didn’t think much of it. After all, it wasn’t something that had never been done before. What I hadn’t taken into consideration, however, was the fact that she was indeed a lone girl on an island full of boys, so stealing her clothing would cause her much more embarrassment and anger than it would a boy. The fact that this bothered me was strange and unfamiliar. Normally I would only be more intrigued, but nothing was normal when it came to Kate.
