So I'm like the worst person in the world right now! I'm so sorry I didn't update the other day, when I said I would. My cousins are here for Christmas and we've been spending time with them, and I've been helping my mom around the house. This is literally the first time I've been able to write all week! Sorry, guys! here's the update

-Kat

“What kind of Poison?” I grabbed Dan by the shoulders, “What kind of Poison!?” He shook his head, “I- I don’t know! It’s not dreamshade, I’ll tell you that, but it’s not anything I’ve ever seen before!” I pushed him backwards, and turned to the wound. Without knowing what it was I didn’t know if I’d be able to heal her with magic.

Focusing on the wound, I concentrated on healing the wound. The familiar tingle of magic filled my body and I relaxed. It was working.

Suddenly, I was knocked backwards by a force like an invisible wall. The surge of energy I’d been feeling had disappeared, and as I opened my eyes, the area around the wound pulsed red before settling back into the yellow-green hue it had been.

I shook my head, “It’s not poison, Dan,” I said, “It’s magic.” I turned to him, “bring Felix.” “Wh- Why?” he asked, “I would know more about how to cure her-“ “Just get Felix.” I cut him off, “Now!” he hurried from the tent and within a matter of seconds, Felix appeared in his place. “What’s the matter?” he asked, a slight trace of worry visible on his face. Knowing Felix, who hardly showed any emotion, this meant he was extremely concerned. “The knife that Kate was stabbed with was cursed.” His eyes widened, “But you can cure her, right?” “No, Felix,” I sighed, “I can’t. I tried, and it appears that I have only made it worse. I don’t know what to do,” I admitted. “But you never Fail, Pan,” he said uncertainly. “I never said I’d failed.” I snapped at him, “She’s not dead yet, is she? This isn’t over. I don’t lose.”

“So what are you going to do?”

I sighed, “I need to leave Neverland for a few days. I have some… research… to do.”

“Alright,” he said, “so what do you want me to do?” “Look after her,” I said, “and the Lost Boys,” I added, “Just try to keep them from killing each other, or themselves for that matter.” He nodded, “But, Pan, where are you going?”

I pulled my hood over my face and turned back to him, “I think it’s time I paid an old friend a visit.”

Kate’s POV

My eyelids grew ever heavier as we neared the camp, and as soon as my head hit the pillow, they snapped closed. I was plunged into a deep trance, fraught with nightmares.

I lay awake in my bed, my eyes were stained with tears, as they were every night. Crying seemed to be the only thing that could distract me from my miserable life.

This is the night

whispered the voice in my head,

You’ve given it enough time. If your life were going to get any better, it would’ve by now. It’s time to give up. It’s time to do it.

I stood up from my bed, and padded quietly to the bathroom. Taking in my broken image in the mirror, I sighed. I’d always hated my body. My thighs refused to ever get any smaller, and I couldn’t get rid of the little pudge of my stomach. My eyes always seemed too big for my acne ridden face, and my hair never cooperated, but always remained a frizzy mess of curls that never seemed to be able to decide whether they wanted to be honey-blonde or auburn. Tonight I looked particularly terrible. My eyes were red and puffy from crying, but that couldn’t mask the dark circles lurking under from weeks of sleep deprevation.
