another update! I know that was a big cliff-hanger for you guys. I definitely didn't do that on purpose hahaha.... ok anyways here goes! -Kat <33

Kit’s eyes were closed when I woke the next morning. Her breathing was calm, and soothing, but she tensed as I leaned over her. Her wide green eyes filled with fear as she gazed at my grinning face.

“Good morning, Princess.”

She didn’t struggle when I dragged her into a sitting position. She merely sat there, staring at the wall of the tent. This angered me, this… indifference. She should be showing fear, nervousness, agitation.

“Did the village whore have a good night’s rest?” I mocked her.

Her eyes widened, and suddenly she whipped around, her hair flying behind her, “Don’t you dare call me that. Ever.” I recognized that look. It was the one she had when she was going into her flashbacks, the ones that landed us in this mess.

Normally I would have immediately repented, asking for the story behind her sensitivity towards the topic, but in this case I used it against her, poking and prodding until she burst.

“What? Village Whore? Slut? Harlot? Dirty Rotten, Good for nothing Tramp?”

“Just SHUT UP!” She cried, and I could finally see the tears pouring down from her eyes, the sight that I’d been waiting for. When it didn’t bring the satisfaction I’d been longing, I pressed on.

“That’s what you looked like to me, kissing that boy. You needed a distraction, so he foot the bill, eh? I bet you even bribed him into doing it. You did, didn’t you? Old Tic could never resist anything of value. What did you promise him? Gems? Money?” I leaned in towards her, whispering in her ear, “your love and devotion?”

As the words left my mouth she kicked me. She actually had the guts to kick me. Oh, but she didn’t stop there. “You awful little rat!” she spat at the ground I stood on. “You know I was just trying to make you jealous! I had a few diamonds in my possession. And so what if I did bribe that boy? I was giving you a taste of your own medicine!”

I laughed, “You see, Kate, that’s not exactly how we do things here. Usually it goes a bit like this. I want something. I get it. End of story. And then you come prancing along, thinking that that rule doesn’t apply to you, but let me tell you, girl. You’ve got another thing coming if you think you’re exempt under my reign. I am king here, Kate, and you’d be smart to remember that.”

“I’ll never obey you, Pan. Unlike your brainwashed Lost Boys, I have some self-respect, and I will not be treated like this. Do you hear me? You think you can just control people. You think you can kick everyone around and pretend that they don’t matter to you-”

“DID I EVER DO THAT TO YOU?” I shouted out her, interrupting her. “I never tried to kick you around! I always treated you like you mattered to me. Even when I wasn’t sure how I felt about you, I treated you better than I’d treated any of the Lost Boys!”

“Then you can cut me free.” She hissed at me. “If I mean so much to you let me go.

“Oh nice try, Kate, but no. I don’t quite think you’ve learned your lesson just yet. Besides, we still have yet to have any real fun.”

“The more you do,” she said, “the farther you drive me away from you.”

I leaned in towards her, our faces inches apart. My eyes bore into hers and I knew. She’d always be mine. She gulped, and I could practically hear her heart beating.
