Yay I finally posted it, I'm sorry it took so long after I said I'd post it Sunday, but it's extra-long so I hope that makes up for it.... anyways enjoy! -Kat

I carried Kate all the way back to my tent. As I was entering the camp, her eyes fluttered open. The lost boys had all retired for the night, so the camp fire was extinguished and the surrounding area deserted. However, I did notice some lights on in a couple of the tents. I ducked into my tent and laid her gently down on the cot.

“Peter…” she said, looking up at me confused, “How…”

Then she seemed to remember. Her eyes widened and she shook her head. “I always seem to be thanking you for saving my life.” I silenced her, gently caressing her cheek, “I will always protect you. No matter what, I will always come after you. As long as I’m here you have nothing to worry about.” She smiled at me, but then her face twisted with pain. I looked down to where I’d touched her arm, and remembered the wounds that had been inflicted upon her. “Here,” I said gently, waving my hands over her arms, healing them. Unlike this time, I knew what Sloane had been using. It was simple magic, one of the first things you learned in the field of self-defense. Of course, it wasn’t often that it was actually used for self-defense.

She shook her head laughing. “Once again, thank you.” She laughed, but then her expression changed. It was different from anything I’d seen on her before. Full of… longing.

“Peter, please, I just… I need you to kiss me. I’m tired of this. I love talking to you, but I’m tired of being apart from you. I just-”

I cut her off by pressing my lips to her, soft, pink ones.

Her eyes widened for only a second before she closed them and pulled me closer to her by my shirt.

This was different from our usual soft, sweet kisses. This was all heat and passion and love. I was drunk with the taste of her, and I couldn’t get enough. In one swift movement I flipped us over so I lay on top of her, supporting myself by my forearms. I could feel the curve of her body against my own, and I kissed her even harder. Her fingers wound their way into my hair, and she kissed me back with more ferocity and heat than I’d thought her capable of. I was completely wound up, and I never wanted this to stop. For the first time since I came to Neverland I was only aware of one thing. Her. All I knew was the feel of her beneath me, her hands in my hair and her lips on mine. She was like a drug. I just kept wanting more.

All too soon, we broke apart, breathing heavily.

She grinned up at me with tired eyes, and I smiled back at her. Gently, I turned us onto our sides and wrapped my arms around her. Her head rested at the base of my neck by my heart. Our bodies fit together like a piece of a puzzle, her legs wrapped around mine and her back curved to my chest. Like that we fell asleep listening to the beating of each other’s hearts.

Kate’s POV

I woke up in Peter’s arms for the second day in a row. But this time when I turned to face him, he was already awake. The look in his eyes was different from the usual dark mystery that usually greeted my eyes when I looked at him. Today they were almost light and happy. It was different, but something I could get used to.

“Come on,” he said, sitting up, “There’s somewhere I want to take you, and this time I promise we won’t be interrupted by any Lost Boys.”

I let him lift me up out of the bed, and together we left the tent, walking off into the woods.

The morning was spent hiking, and I must admit, the forest seemed… different this time. It wasn’t humid and hot, but pleasant and fresh. It was a side of Neverland I’d never seen before. One that was welcoming and exciting instead of terrifying and twisted. Maybe it was the way Pan was acting, but I’m not really sure.
