Sam got back the day after and it was early in the morning. He had told his dad about what had happened. His dad wasn't surprised and had gone to do his own thing. Time passed and Sam had done more jobs.
While walking with a mother, helping keep an eye on two of her kids that were 10 and 11, something happened.
"So where is your husband?" Sam asked.
"He is out in his chopper again. You'd think after all the help you have given us he'd offer you a ride." The mother replied.
"He has. But I had things to do at the time." Sam said being modest.
"Your always busy."
Sam chuckled. "Sadly that's true. I have saved up for my own car and apartment. I know how to live outside my dads house and how to protect myself. I just save up for him now since he isn't making enough money."
"Well, why don't you do all that? You could still help him with his money and all that."
"Well, ever since my mom died, you know that story, he has been down and so if I left on my own and let him be, he may go into a big state if depression. I can't do that to him. I owe him." Sam said.
When he said that, murmurs started picking up. Sam looked around with the mother at what people were looking at and they were looking up at something that scared Sam.
It was a man, or what looked like an ordinary man. He was flying in the air making everyone. A police officer got out of his car and called out, "Sir, I need you to get off what-"
He was sorely interrupted by a woman grabbing his throat. Sam swore she wasn't there before but now she was. Sam didn't know what was going on. The man in the air put his hands into a cup shape and fire just formed out of it. He aimed for the center of the street and his small fire ball sprang from his hand.
Quick reaction, Sam pushed the mother to the fence next to them, grabbed the kids and ran next to her. The fire ball hit the yellow line and exploded, causing an immense blast of cars and fire everywhere. A car flipped over the family. It would have crushed them if it were not for the strong fence. It was tight, but the family was safe.
Sam helped them get out and told them, "Get away from the streets. Head into the ally way and keep running until you find cops."
"How did you know that would happen?" one of the kids asked.
"I didn't. I was just worried. Now go!" he hurried them off.
Sam turned to the woman who was holding a mans head in a bubble of water. The man was trying to get out but every way he turned his head, the water followed. He couldn't remove it with his hands because the just went in like regular water. He eventually went limp. Sam turned his head as he heard a snap. He looked around and found a flipped car. He ran over and hid behind it.
Looking around for anyone who was still alive, there was no one. Sam looked at the man. He was now touching the ground. The two were raging havoc upon the streets. Sam couldn't do anything about it. Sam saw a giant semi truck stuck behind abandoned cars. Sam ran over and pulled the fat driver out of the car and they jumped away.
The man rampaging punched the front of the truck with his fist on fire. It had a small explosion and it flew up. It flipped into the air and the man jumped up higher than any man should and kicked the truck into a building nearby. Sam realized it was the library.
When it hit, the girl rampaging ran over to the huge hole in the wall, but the rest Sam couldn't see because he was too busy staying out of sight. Eventually, the two made their way towards a different direction. Sam ran towards the building, and to his surprise, he saw Don walk out of the hole carrying a girl in his arms.
Don put the girl down, not noticing Sam. He then ran after the other two. Sam ran to the girl. She was alive. Just unconscious.
Sam realized that there were still people inside. He helped most of them out, but there was one issue. A woman whose leg was being crushed by a book rack was calling Sam over.
"My child... He is over there!!!" Sam turned around to see some of the second floor start to fall and a little boy under it. Sam San over and basically tackled the kid out of the way. When the floor above them settled Sam spoke.
"Sorry, kid. Looks like homework is on pause."
The kid just yelled out in joy "Yay!"
Just when the two thought they were safe, the floor above them started to crack. A book shelf was blocking their side exit so the only way to get out was directly behind them. Neither of them would be fast enough to move that quick.
Sam said exhausted "Oh give me a break."
While the kid just said "Aw man."
The floor fell. Sam rolled on top of the kid to try and shield him. But there was no impact. Sam looked up to his dad holding the entire floor by himself.
"Dad?" Sam asked confused.
"The kid blurted out " Holy shit!"
Jack struggled to speak. " Get... Out of here." Sam didn't need to be told twice. He picked the boy and ran out of the way. They picked up the mom and Sam led them outside where some ambulance waited. Sam immediately turned around to help his dad but the second floor collapsed onto the first. Sam was about to fall to his knees when he saw his father walk out of the dust without a scratch on him.
He turned to Sam and said "Follow me."
