The next morning, Sebastian was exhausted. He slept in which threw his time zone off. He walked out into the giant room and saw Sal moving things from the center of the room into boxes on the side of the room.
Sebastian was still in his clothes from yesterday. He walked up, rubbing his eyes and asked, "What are you doing?"
"I", Sal stated energetically. "Am making some room for us to work. We'll need it."
He took a look at Sebastian and shook his head. "Brunch is the second door on the right, same hallway as the bathroom. Eat, then shower, then come back to me."
Sebastian did as he was told. He went to the far right side of the room and went straight back into the corner and found the hallway again. As he walked down it, he noticed that there was no carpet or any picture. Everything seemed like it was metal.
He eventually got to the double doorway that led into the kitchen. The kitchen seemed a bit more alive. The floor had black and white tielling as the light on top was bright yellow. There was a counter that stretched all around the room covered with average kitchen supplies. Two sinks, a stove, a toaster, etc.
There was a round table to Sebastians left that had a plate and fork next to it. Sebastian went to the fridge which was on the right side of the room and looked inside. There he found a bunch of leftovers, but in the very front, he saw scrambled eggs and bacon wrapped in plastic wrap with a note saying his name on it.
He took the food, trashed the plastic and warmed up the food in the microwave, which was on the left side, closest to the table.
So this place does have a power source connecting to every bit of this place. I can already tell they have a perfectly good shower and plumbing.
Sebastian ate his food and took his shower. Warm water, clean towels, Sal had everything here. After everything was taken care of, Sebastian went back to Sal. The center was completely cleared and Sal was relaxing now.
"Ah, so you finally made it." He said getting up. "Alright, I guess I have to prove to you we can do magic."
"Yeah, that seems like a good start." Sebastian said, hoping that this man was telling the truth and none of this was a lie.
Sal took a few steps back a opened his palm out. A red flame emerged from his hand, inches away.
Sebastian wasn't surprised. Don had done some crazy stuff to.
"Come and touch my hand!" Sal said. Sebastian looked in horror. "Don't worry. As long as you don't touch the fire, you'll be fine."
Sebastian did as he said. He walked over to Sal and the closer he got, the more he could feel the flame. But when he touched Sal's hand, it was the complete opposite. It was cold, so cold that it actually made Sebastian jump a little in surprise.
"Elemental spells work mainly on your emotions. You feel angry, you can do heat spells. If you're calm, air spells, and if your sad, we water. Etc, etc."
"Can you fly?" Sebastian wanted to see him fly so badly that he forgot to ask nicely.
Sal chuckled. "I haven't flown for years, boy. That's why I put on a few pounds."
He patted his belly as he laughed. He was letting off a very Saint Nick vibe.
"It's been years... Years since I tried..." He trailed off but snapped out of his flashback. "But I'm sure I can. It's almost like riding a bike. It'll take a lot of energy to get used to at first, but when you get the hang of it, it'll be just like walking."
He spread he legs out just a little bit and bent his knees. His face went from a slight smirk to concentration. After a while he began to float. Then rise a bit more. The way his legs dangled made him look silly.
He opened his eyes. "These powers can be very helpful. And addicting. Do you believe now?" Lighting formed around his arms and legs.
"Yes. But I thought you said you didn't have any magic?" Sebastian said clueless yet astonished.
"I didn't", he said lowering down as the lightning faded. "Not until my father gave up his to get mine. Which is probably what we'll have to do to you."
