Gaining Trust

Sasuke's POV

I sighed as I made my way through the village. I've been here six months and I still receive dirty looks. I can't blame them, I deserve far worse. I brushed it off and continued walking.

"Hey, Teme! Wait up!" Naruto called out to me.

I stopped dead in my tracks and cringed at him approaching. I hadn't planned on running into anyone, I just wanted to hurry back to Sakura.

"Where's.. Sakura-chan...?" I heard him ask between breaths.

I rolled my eyes and continued walking. I heard him groan and he walked along beside of me.

"She's at home. I accidentally spooked her and she dropped the food she had went to get. It's hard for her to leave the apartment, so I told her I'd go." I explained to the annoying blonde.

I heard his gasp and then his fist collided with the back of my head. I growled and rubbed where he hit me.

"He left her alone?! She could be in trouble or.." He started to say before I cut him off.

"She's fine, dobe." I said as I handed him my phone, "I placed cameras in the apartment so I could keep an eye on her."

You're spying on her?!" He yelled at me.

"No, you idiot! She knows they are there! She feels more comfortable knowing I can see her." I said and placed my hand on my forehead.

"Oh, okay then." I heard him say.

I placed a hand on his shoulder and looked at him.

"I won't let anything happen to her, you know that right? I should've tried harder last time. For that, I am sorry." I said to him.

I felt his shoulders relax with my words. He smiled at me and hugged me tightly. I could've sworn he broke a few ribs with his grip. He let me go and smiled again.

"Oh, thank god. I honestly thought we lost you forever. Let's go get the food so you can go home." He said to me.

I smiled and walked with him.

Naruto's POV

I was so glad Teme was taking care of her and that she was allowing him too. I watched him go into a bento shop and replace what Sakura had bought.

"Hey, Teme? Do you think Sakura would allow me to see her? I won't push her or anything." I asked him.

"I think you should push her a little. She needs more than just me." He said to me.

I smiled and followed him to her apartment. I watched as he opened the door and I just stood there.

"Hey, Sakura, can I come in?" I asked her and waited for a reply.

I heard her mumble something to Sasuke and he mumbled back. She walked to the door and ushered me in and closed the door behind us.
