Sakura's POV
"Do you hereby promise to do everything in your power to protect the village walls as well as the people who live inside them?" I was asked by one of the elders.
I could here the villagers below yell my name in excitement. Even as I stood there hearing them, I was still in a state of shock. I was the new Hokage. I felt bad for Naruto, this was always his dream and I was stealing it from him.
"I promise to do all I can for this village. I will protect it with all my might or die trying." I said to him.
He smiled at me and placed the cloak on my shoulders. I grabbed the hat from him and placed it on my head and walked to where everyone could see me.
"I give you, Sakura Haruno, your seventh Hokage!" I heard the elders yell.
I smiled and bowed to my villagers. I meant what I had said, I would give my life to protect them. I looked down at all my friends faces and suddenly wished Sasuke was there to see it. Would he have been proud of me? Would he have been happy?
Two hours later
I looked down at my desk and sighed at all the paperwork I was supposed to do. Ugh, how in the world did they manage this? This was worse than what I had to do at the hospital.
Knock knock
I looked up towards the door. Naruto was standing there with a huge smile plastered on his face.
"Hello, Hokage-Sama." He said to me.
"Now, Naruto, no need for formalities. We have been friends for a very long time, you can use my name." I said to him with a smile.
"H-Hai, Sakura." He said.
"I have a mission for you, Naruto. If you will accept it that is. I understand it's below you to be a messenger but I need something delivered." I said to him.
"Anything for you, Sakura." He said and grabbed the envelope.
"Deliver this to Sasuke. It's been awhile since I have heard from him and I decided I would reach out to him instead of waiting." I said and smiled to him.
He must have understood because he smiled widely. I know he missed Sasuke as much as I had. He was beyond thrilled to deliver it as long as he got to see his old friend.
"I'll see you when you get back." I said to him.
"Hai, Sakura. Thank you." He said before he vanished.
'I hope to hear back from you soon my love.'
