Sasuke's Journey

Sasuke's POV

It's been two years since I started to pursue my brother. Two years and there still hasn't been even one sight of him anywhere. I sighed and made my way to a small clearing and decided to set up camp. It was beginning to get dark by the time I had completely set up camp.

"Dammit, I need to find him." I said out loud.

I haven't even attempted to make contact with Sakura, since I left. For all I knew, she probably thought I was dead.  I sighed and headed to my tent. I stopped when I heard multiple feet colliding with the ground. I grabbed my Katana and turned around.

"Easy, Uchiha. Hokage-sama sent us to assist." The voice said to me.

I relaxed and faced the men in the Anbu masks. I recognized the one that spoke as Shikimaru, due to his weird ponytail sticking out. I looked at them and counted. Five. There was five of them. Four men and one woman. My eyes instantly widened at the flash of pink hair from the woman.

"Sakura?" I asked her.

The woman with the pink hair faced me and removed her Anbu mask. Her purple eyes burnt me to my core.

"I think you have me confused with someone else, I am Ayme Shito." She said to me.

"Now, Sasuke, have you had any sightings of your brother at all?" Shikamaru asked me.

"No and it's starting to bother me. No village or wanderer has seen a man with long black hair in a black cloak. It's like he's vanished off the face of the earth." I said to him.

"It doesn't surprise me. After what he did to Sakura, he's probably hiding. Hell, almost every shinobi from the leaf is out hunting him, including the hokage himself." He said to me.

My head immediately shot to him. Kakashi was looking for him too? If so, who was in charge of the village?

"Who is taking his place?"

He smiled at me.

"Sakura." He said.

I wanted to faint. My Sakura? My Sakura was in charge of the village? Had she surpassed me even further in the time I was gone?

"It's just temporary, just until Kakashi returns. But, he made it very clear to the elders that if he doesn't, she remains as hokage." He said to me.

I smiled and rubbed the back of my head. My little blossom has definitely grown. Surprisingly, I was proud.

"Let's get to figuring out our next steps. I want to find him soon, this is getting tiresome." Shikamaru said as he sat down.
