Chapter 13 - Dark Cupid

Miss Bustier is teaching our Literature class. We were talking about different kinds of fairy tales. Miss Bustier said; "In most fairy tales, the prince breaks the spell by kissing the princess. Can anyone tell us why?"

Rose stands up and says as she swoons; "Because only love can conquer hate."

"Correct, Rose." Miss Bustier said. Then Max being himself said; "Technically speaking, this reasoning is only exhibited in 87% of all fairy tales and-"

Miss Bustier: "Thank you Max. That's enough." Miss Bustier told him. She's right. My ancestor's story, Princess Ariel, her spell was broken because Ursula's shell necklace broke, bringing Ariel's voice back. Then I got distracted by Adrien. I was looking over Adrien's shoulders as he writes a letter. Then Miss Bustier grabbed his attention and said; "Adrien, I hope what you're writing has to do with my lesson."

She approaches Adrien and asked him; "Can you tell me what I just said?"

"That's why in most fairy tales the prince breaks the spell by kissing the princess because only love conquers hate." Adrien said. Then the bell rings. Miss Bustier said; "Very good, Adrien! Now, everyone, don't forget to finish Sleeping Beauty by Charles Perrault tonight, and Happy Valentine's Day, students!"

I told Marinette and Alya; "Hey, go ahead, I'll meet you outside."

They agreed with me and went out. I checked if anyone is watching me, then I turned invisible. I continue to look over Adrien's shoulder as he continues to write his letter but he crumples it up, stands up and tosses the letter in the garbage can. I waited till Adrien, Chloé and Sabrina left. As soon as they leave, I turned visible. I grabbed the letter from the bin and started reading it. On it is written;

Your hair is dark as night, your pretty ocean eyes, (depending on your features)

I wonder who you are beneath that strong disguise.

Every day we see each other and I hope that you'll be mine,

Together our love could be so true, please, will you be my Valentine?

"Whoa, now that's a love poem." Kōhaku said. I said; "Who could he be talking about? Hair as dark as night, bluebell eyes?" (Depending on your features)

"Uh... you?" Kōhaku said. I laughs nervously and said; "Me? No way. There are plenty of girls at school with dark hair and blue eyes." (Depending on your features)

"Yeah, but ocean eyes..." (depending on your features) he said. Then I read it again and asked; "What do you think he means by "strong disguise"?"

He sighs and said; "This is poetry. He means who you are deep down inside. He wants to get to know you (Y/n)! He's talking about you!"

I started to laugh and jump up and down excitedly. I was so happy, bubbles started to form around me out of nowhere. I said; "Pinch me!"

Then Kōhaku pinched me and he literally bursted my bubbles and I shriek. I rubbed my arm and told him; "Not literally!"

As school was over, I laughed with Alya and Marinette while holding the letter as we were exiting the school. While we were walking, Alya grabs me and Marinette as she took us next to Kim and Max. I wonder why? As we approached them, I saw a piece of jewel in a heart-shaped box.  Alya grabs Kim's hands and looks at the jewel as she said; "Ooh! Sparkly! Is that for moi?"

Max said in an annoyed attitude; "Negative Alya. The recipient of this gem has already been determined, it's—"

Kim grabs Max and cuts him off by covering his mouth and said; "Shh! Keep it on the down-low!"
