Chapter 26 - Guitar Villain

Le Boulangerie Patisserie.

(Y/n)'s P.O.V.

My aunt and I went to buy some croissants and cake for me and my aunt. Marinette was helping her parents in the shop. While I was going to pay for the food, a man enters the bakery. He looked at Marinette and asked her; "Ah, you must be Marinette Dupain-Cheng. Could you call up your friend, (Y/n) Ocean? I need to tell you girls something very important for you two."

"Actually, she's right here." Marinette said as she pulled me next to her. I awkwardly waved at him. He looked at me and he said to us; "Good! Now that you two are here, I need to tell you something that only comes one in a life time. As you know, I am Bob Roth, music producer at Bob Roth Records. Listen I need your help. Jagged Stone told me that Marinette has some real talent making his glasses and she wants her to do his cover of his new album."

I didn't understand why he needs me. I asked him; "What does this have to do with me?"

"Weren't you the one who helped him write his latest song?" Bob said. That's right! Last time after the fight against Pixelator, we wrote the song together. I said to him; "Uhm, yeh. But I still don't get it why I could help her do the cover?"

"Well, ever since that song came out, it became one of his hits. Plus he said that you know a thing or 2 about music. He considers you as a siren." He said. Marinette and I looked at each other with our eyes, then back at him and I said to him; "Hehe, yeh."

"So, are you two interested?" Bob said to us. Marinette said; "Uh...wait, wait, wait. Let me get this straight. You want...me to design the album cover for Jagged Stone?! My...all-time favourite singer?!"

"And you want me to help her with the design?! Because I helped him with a hit song?!" I said to him. She tapped her right check with her right hand to see if this is real or not. Bob said to us; "That's right! Requested by Jagged Stone himself. I brought a few visuals so you can get a sense of what we're going for."

Bob pulls out an XY album and gives it to Marinette. As we analyse it, Marinette said; "This doesn't seem like Jagged Stone material. More like..."

"A perfume ad!" I said as I cut her sentence. Bob grabs Marinettes's shoulder and said; "This is the direction of his new image. More modern, current!"

"...really? Wow. I was thinking more along the lines of-" Marinette said, but was interrupted by Bob as he said to us; "Don't think! This is what is selling these days."

"Uh...sure." Marinette and I said. Bob said to us; "And one last thing, Marinette and (Y/n). We're in a hurry! We need your proposal by the end of the day. You two up to it?"

Marinette looks at her parents and I look at my aunt, who both nod reassuringly. Marinette and I look back at him and said; "Uh, yeah! Okay."

"See you later, then!" Bob said as he leaves the bakery. As Marinette and I turned to our family members, Tom said to us; "My daughter and her best friend, famous album cover designers. You're going to kill it! Marinette and (Y/n) style. Boo yah!"

Tom and Marinette high five, and the two of them and Sabine share a hug. My aunt squeezes me into a hug. As she was hugging me, I said to her; "Can't...breath..."

Then she lets go of me. She said; "I'm so proud of you two. This will be an amazing opportunity! How about if you girls come to our place to do it?"

"Sure, why not? I'll just grab my stuff from my room." Marinette said as she went to grab her stuff from upstairs. As she got them, we headed back to my place.

Ocean's home

As we arrived home, my aunt had to teach her ballet class with her 12 year olds. Marinette and I went to my room to start the album cover. As she took out everything that she needed, Marinette starts drawing his album cover on her tablet while we were listening to XY's music, as Tikki and Kōhaku watch. Man, his music is so horrible, it's like a dubstep of a fish, who is trying to babble with another fish. As Marinette and I cover our ears, I stopped the music and Marinette said to us; "Oh, why does Jagged Stone want to change his style?"
