“Alpha Welsh?” A hesitant voice called out. I glared at the door angrily, as if the girl was the whole reason for my mate’s rejection.
“What?” I sneered.
“I-I… Alpha Quin is asking for you.”
“What does he want?” I ask angrily as I slumped in my chair.
“Rogue problems.” I huffed and stared at the ground before me. “Bring him in.”
“Yes Alpha.”
The soft ‘click’ of the door was heard and then complete silence fell over the office. Where was she? Why did she leave? I kept my promise; I thought she would have been proud of me.
I did this all for her and yet, she still runs from me. I growled angrily and threw all the papers off my desk and tipped it over in blind rage.
Well I’m through!
“Alpha Welsh! I’m back for more of your beauty!” He joked as he broke through my door, he stood frozen then gave me a half smile. “Well I see she’s gotten to you already?” I glared at the Alpha that stood under me as the most powerful. His power was greatly due to the fact that he was a born from both a pureblooded witch and pureblooded werewolf.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” I snarled.
“Well that Rogue mate of yours. She’s an unruly wolf and she killed all of our farm animals as she traveled through our territory last night.” My eyes widened.
“You’ve seen her?” My head snapped towards him. “Did you see where she went?” I asked getting ready to go on another hunt.
“No.” He sighed sadly. “She is too strong, we’re lucky we got away with just the death of our animals; seems to me like that girl has an appetite.” He joked. I smiled despite myself. So I’ve heard.
“But I wish to propose something to you as well as the rest of the Alpha’s in the state. We want that mate of yours tamed for the well being of all of us. We’ll help you catch her if you, in return allow us to.” I thought about this for a moment and sighed in defeat.
Slowly he shook his head ‘no’.
“But why not? This is a great opportunity for you!” Alpha Quin tried.
“I can’t she’s my mate. I’ll be the one to find her, on my own. But if you get any leads on her position. Feel free to let me know.” Alpha Quin looked skeptically at me, but then he gave a small sheepish smile.
“I suppose it’s out of my control. Last I’ve heard, she was terrorizing San Jose. But the girl travels fast, now faster with you on her trail.” Alpha Quin chuckled. “Hell of a mate you’ve got.” My wolf shook with both pride and jealousy.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” I questioned.
“Oh? You don’t know her history? Boy, you may be stronger than me but you sure can be dumb sometimes.” Alpha chuckled, but stopped immediately when he earned a scowl from me. I’m not dumb!
“Just tell me.” I practically howled.
“Well it’s a long story.”
“I’ve got time.”
“Which is beyond me, how do you manage to be Alpha of the alphas and have time to just lay back?” He questioned. I chuckled.
“I’m smarter than you think.” Plus my second in command isn’t too shabby either.
“You truly are the best candidate for this” He smiled admirably at me. “Well, anyways.” He rolled his eyes. “Your little mate was known worldwide when she was a pup such as yourself.” I glared I wasn’t that young… was I?
“She was the strongest of the strongest and had the brains to match. She rivaled any alpha in the league and of course being very dominant and unforthcoming of women in the early ages of life. They locked her up and did things to her that no one seems to know about. “
“One day she couldn’t take being the underdog and her power was her life-force and so it consumed her; her full potential had been awakened. No one knows exactly what happened since it was so long ago but not a single one of the Alpha’s at the time existed from that point on. It took a while for the council to become once more.” Alpha Quin sighed.
“That mate of yours is an Ancient legend that no one is aware of. But I believe she rivals both you and me combined; maybe everyone in this entire planet.”
“But know this, don’t underestimate her, don’t anger her to such a degree, and whatever you do don’t give up on her. She’ll come to you, if the fates paired you two off they must have something great planned for the werewolf race.”
I couldn’t contain my soaring pride and happiness. My wolf howled in content.
“Well I guess we’ve both got to go back to our alpha duties. Farewell youngster.” He bowed and walked out.
Alpha Quin was extremely old and had been Alpha of the Alpha’s before me until he noticed that I had ‘great and powerful aura within me’ and I was ‘a new revelation of alpha’s and werewolves alike’. That man sure was wise. He stepped down immediately and took position as the second greatest Alpha.
I rearranged my office and sat behind my desk and started to really think things over.
