Time Skip: 5 weeks
I stretch out my back. I just carried my last box of books into the new house. I guess love really does hurt. Gajeel chuckles at me and my library as he passes with a deconstructed kitchen table. I stick my tongue out a him, making him laugh some more. When he's out of sight, I place my hand on my stomach.
In one more week, I'm going back to Porlyusica's. I've started feeling more of the early symptoms of pregnancy. And Gajeel started to notice, because he said my chest is starting to "look as great as my ass." I'm also having trouble carrying things in. I'm getting winded really easily. Gajeel knows that I'm with child, but doesn't seem to register that it might not be his.
You should have seen his face when I showed him the positive test. I thought he might fall over, he was so worried. He was worried that we weren't married and that I was upset for that. It's almost like he forgot we're holding a private ceremony at the guildhall in a few more weeks. The guild is doing a lot the prep and planning. Erza, Carla, and Wendy are on cake detail; Lucy, Leo, Virgo, and Mira are helping to pick outfits for the courts; Laki, Lisanna, Juvia, and Kinana is helping to decorate; and everyone is helping in some way.
After a few more hours of carrying in boxes and furniture, Gajeel and I sit down for lunch. I make myself some tea while Gajeel cooks. He make us a grilled cheese with spinach, tomato, and some turkey sausage. It's incredible.
"It's day like this I wish I didn't have so many books," I whine. Gajeel laughs at me and tousles my hair from across the table. We continue to enjoy lunch and each other's company. I really just want to get all this unpacking over with as soon as possible. After lunch, we haul a few more boxes into the house and start to decide what should go in each room. We decide the largest of the bedrooms is going to be ours. That way I can put some of my books and my desk in it. The room next to it is where the baby will sleep, when they're old enough. For the first few weeks, they'll sleep in our room.
While set up my bookshelves, Gajeel puts his bed frame back together. When that's done I work on putting clothes away in the closet and dresser. When that's done, I move downstairs and put away the other half of my books on shelves in the sunroom. I adjust a small u-shaped couch, I bought for this room, so that it fill all along the walls. I move a coffee table into the center of it and put some vases on it. I stand some pictures of Gajeel and I on top of the fireplace, on the opposite wall.
In the livingroom, I set up the tv and video players. On the wall to the right, I put my radio on a little table and plug it in. I tune it to my favorite station and listen while I rest on Gajeel's couch. Gajeel comes down and sits with me. He puts his arms around my shoulders and listens to music with me. After a while, I fall asleep on the couch. It's just a short nap, because I get woken up by Gajeel's snoring before the song we're listening to can even end.
I carefully sneak away from the couch and start making dinner. I make some lemon pepper chicken and rice. I hear Gajeel's roaring yawn as I finish setting the table. I pour us some sparking grape juice to go with it. The wine it for when were done. Well, not for me. It could hurt the baby. We sit down and eat dinner, together. It's just us, eating dinner together, for the first time in over a month.
Gajeel compliments me on my cooking and says that he's rubbing off on me. I giggle and take a sip of the sparkling juice. It reminds me of when Gajeel took me out to dinner for our anniversary and I tried champagne. That feels like forever ago. That was long ago, though. Back before the guild knew about us and before the baby or the big battle with Jose. Time sure does pass fast.
After dinner, Gajeel finishes putting sheets on the bed while I arrange our dishes and clean what I used for dinner. I put away all of our utensils and cookware. After that, I hang up some of the other picture that we brought. I have some of me and Juniper, Jet and Droy, Lucy, and Gajeel. we both have a couple of pictures of the whole guild, too. I hang them in the halls and on the stairway.
Gajeel's bringing his washing machine and drier, tomorrow. Most of the furniture is his, because a lot of mine was provided. I have my own dresser and bookshelves, but that's about it. when I'm done hanging pictures and moving some of my trinkets to my dresser, I decide to head home. We aren't officially moving in, until all of our things are moved in. Most of stuff is here, but I do have more clothes and bathroom supplies to bring. I kiss Gajeel on the cheek and walk back across town with him.
Erza joins us, as we pass the guildhall. We discuss my moving and Erza says that she'll miss having me as a neighbor. I'll miss her, too. Sometimes we would play cards or have tea together. it was nice. I promise to visit every so often for a night of poker or b.s. She likes to think she's good at b.s., but she has this big tell when she lies. She acts way too confident, but none of us have the courage to tell her.
