"JARVIS please notify Mr. Stark and his colleague that dinner is ready!" I shout
"Yes Ms. Potts," he says
"Come sit and eat sweetie," I say to the girl
I refuse to call her subject 001, that's just cruel and inhumane; I mean she's just a child for gods sake. As the girl sits at the table I set a bowl of spaghetti in front of her and soon enough the boys come up from the lab. Tony sits down next to the girl while the doctor and I sit across from them. For a moment the three of us just watch as the practically inhales the food before she notices us watching her, her eyes go blue with embarrassment and I clear throat...
"Tony," I say quickly
"Yea?" He says turning his head to me
"I think it's high time she learns how to read and write and count," I say
"..." the three of them just stare at me like I'm crazy
"It may help us figure out who she is if she learns these things," I continue
"I'll get her a tutor then," Tony says with a sigh
"Nonsense," I say, "the three of us will be her teachers."
"What?" The two men chime
"I'll teacher to read and write; while you teacher basic second grade math," I go on
"Second grade?" Tony asks
"Well she's about eight or nine years old around the right age to be in either second or third grade," I say
With that said, I don't wait for a response; instead I get up and start clearing the table, I know they're watching me, but I ignore them. I feel the girl's thin arms wrap around my legs as I clean the dishes, I turn my head to one side-looking down at her scrawny face and notice bright pink eyes and a wide smile gleaming back up at me...such a sweet thing...I really want to keep her. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx I work on finding out who she is while Tony teaches her mathematics; I have to say, she's quiet a quick learner. It's only been a few hours, but she already finished with second grade math and is now learning third grade math and Pepper's already got her writing sentences...small worded sentences mind you, but sentences nonetheless. She's also proven to be an amazing drawer...
"Whose this?" I hear Tony ask as he looks at one of her drawling
"..." the girl writes something in the corner of the paper
"Banner," he calls me over, "your gonna wanna see this..."
"Subject 002," I read as I look at the drawling
