She was that girl.
She hides in her room and stares at her reflection. She would always wonder why she was not as pretty as her sister Angeline. She would stay up late asking the Universe the same question all over again. Then, every night before she sleeps she will cry her heart's deepest condolences --all for herself.
She was that girl. The one who waits for the clock to strike exactly 11:11 in the evening. She would close her eyes and wish nothing but the best not only for her but for all the people in the world.
She was that girl who takes an hour at the bathroom fixing her frizzy hair and chapped lips. She will draw a pair of what seemed to be the perfect curve above her eyes and still... find herself at the end of another pity party.
She was that girl who smiles at every compliment and screams inside herself the opposite.
She was that girl who hides every inch of insecurity with all the makeup she learned to apply.
She was that girl in tears in front of her own reflection, spiting the ugliness she saw in herself.
                              But he came.
He came and showered her with compliments. He destroyed all the bars and embraced her all. He stayed and kissed every fiber of her being.
He came and made her believe the things she once hated.
He came and stayed---
Only to leave her with all the compliments.
Only to scar her for life.
Only to cry a few more ocean.
Only to spite herself even more.
He came, told her the sweetest of words---but only to leave her with a broken soul and guarded heart for life.
