Dazai has suggested to lead you home,just in case. Akutagawa could come back for you, if you were alone. At first,you refused because it was too late and you thought,that he probably had to go home and he had already saved you. You didn't want to bother him even more.
You were always afraid that you were bothersome. You didn't have any friends and when someone new appeared in your life you tried your best not to lose that person. Unfortunately,you have never succeeded. You always tried not to be boring or not to scary that person from the very beginning .You always tried to look like a normal girl, who had a chance to be happy.
Even though you had refused, Dazai, being a gentleman he was, insisted to lead you home and eventually you agreed.
You were walking slowly down street and you began talking with each other.
"So, (Y/N)" Dazai said "Tell me about your ability. What is it like?"
"It's called "Unreal Human" and it allows me to transform my emotions into the physical energy." You explained
"Sounds interesting!" Dazai said
"What about you? Do you have an ability?" You asked
"Oh,yes. It's called "No Longer Human". I can nullify any other ability" He answered proudly
"Wow! That's amazing" You exclaimed
Dazai's grin grew wider
"I actually saw you, when you activated your ability" He began "and I'm pretty sure, that you are not able to control it, are you?"
"Yeah, you're right" You admitted
You explained him everything about your ability and why you can't handle it and Dazai was really interested in your speech. You didn't tell him about your loneliness and suffering, but he seemed to notice, that you weren't telling him everything. He didn't try to make you to, though
When you were finished with explanation, Dazai said
"Now that's clear why the Port Mafia are looking for you. You can be useful for them. And the fact, that you can't control your ability makes you even more dangerous "
"So they can come for me again?" You asked with fear in your voice
"That's pretty likely" He answered
You didn't answer anything. Your life was horrible even without problems with Port Mafia and what will be with you now?! That's scary. You knew you couldn't defeat anybody who's their member. You were afraid. What will happen with you?
There was also a small part inside of you, which remembered about all that pain,you felt and oh ,how that part wished for the Port Mafia to come for you and give, what you desired at nights- death
You were now almost near your house. Only a few meters more and you'd be at home, but suddenly Dazai stopped
"I can't leave you know,knowing that you can be killed." He said "Who knows, it can happen even tomorrow."
"But why? You've just met me. Not even an hour has passed. Why do you care about me?" You asked and also stopped
He turned to you and looked into your eyes. This small action, made you blush a little bit
"Let's say ,that someone asked me to" He smiled
By "someone", he meant Odasaku, but of course,he couldn't tell you about him and his death. He couldn't tell you about his past. At least, now
"It's also my job" He said "You see, I work at the Arm Detective Agency. It's my duty to save people. The third and the last reason is that..."
He paused for a moment to find the right words
"You see, you're interesting" He finally said "there's something special in you. I can't tell you what exactly makes you different from others now, but I'm sure, that I'll understand it later. I can see it your eyes. You are not just an ordinary ability user. There's a spark in your eyes. Not everyone has it. Even some of my friends don't have it. I did knew people with such a spark and, believe me, they could do truly amazing things. You have this spark. You are extraordinary ,(Y/N)"
You werestunned .Your jaw dropped a bit. Never has anybody told you such things. People had told you different things. They told, that you had to keep away from them, that you were scary, that you were better off dead,that you're a monster, you were useless, you could never reach any your goal with such ability and a lot of something like this. It was the first time in your life, when someone told, that you were special. Even your parents never told you this. They always calmed you when you cried, but they never told you this. The truth is they thought, that other people were right and they had no idea how would you live in this world. They never told you about their real thoughts, but you could feel it.
They way Dazai said it has also surprised you. He wasn't mocking at you. He truly believed in what he said. He said it with a soft smile on his face. He, the man who you've just met, made you feel worth something, he made you feel special, he made you feel like no one ever did.
"Hey why are you looking at me like that?" He asked
"Sorry, I just..." You smiled a little bit "Never mind"
"That's okay" He said "You know, I've thought about you and the situation you're in and I think I've found the solution for your problem"
"Are you serious?" You asked surprised
"I invite to the Arm Detective Agency. You can start working there. Thus you'll be safe" He answered "If you'd work there ,me and my colleagues will never let you you get in trouble, I can promise you that"
"That's great!" You exclaimed "I've heard about ADA before and seems like it would be cool to work there"
Dazai gave you the address of the agency and told you to come there tomorrow. He also gave you his number and you gave him yours, just in case anything happens.After that, he left
