Chapter 12: Protective Chrys

A week later. Chrys's Pov

I was driving to the middle school to get Ivy and Aster from school for thier parents. They wanted me to watch them for a few months while they were gone. I smiled a bit, I've gotten along with those two more so then the other kids.

I'd say I bonded with them. It's nice to see them together. Aster loves to tease Ivy alot, I find it cute. Now since the incident with my father, my father is wanted for what happened.

I sighed as I pulled into the parking lot and parked. As I waited for the two I got a message from Chief asking me a question about the incident with my dad. I texted back that I didn't want to talk about it.

I heard the bell ring and I put my phone away. I waited for the two to walk out. I soon spotted them coming out. They saw me and walked over to me. Then two kids blocked thier path to me. My eyes narrowed and I walked over. I manage to catch what's going on.

"Hey Ivy why you hanging out with the nerd here?" Asked the first kid. The second had grabbed Aster. "Hey leave her alone!" Ivy shouted shoving the second kid. The first one whacked Ivy, "Don't you dare stop my friend again Ivy" I growled and walked over to them. The first kids grabbed Ivy, "Now you'll learn your place Ive"

I grabbed the two by thier shirt collars and yanked them in the air, "you won't be doing any of that. Ivy, Aster, go to the car please." They nodded and quickly went to the car. I dropped them and growled, "If I catch you hurting them again. I will show no mercy. Got it?"

They nodded and raced off. I huffed and walked over to the car. Ivy and Aster had got in and buckled. I got in, buckled and drove off. "Are you two okay?" I asked them. They nodded and Ivy said, "we're fine. Thanks Chrys"

I nodded and focused on driving home. Once I reach Rose and I's home, I got out with the two and walked in. I noticed a note on the door and read it,

'Hey Chrys,

I went out to get groceries for dinner tonight. Be back soon

❤ Rose'

I smiled and went in with the two. I told then to get changed and ready for dinner. They agreed and ran off. I texted rose asking her what she's making. She answered with pasta and I replied with okay. I played a game on my phone.

"Come in Romance cop" Came the Chief's voice on the radio. "I'm here chief. What's wrong?" I asked her. "You won't like this but turn on the TV to the news..." she said. I complied and turned on the TV to the news.

"This just in a hostage situation is going on in lovebloom at the market downtown" said the news lady. The camera paneled over the store rose had gone to. I growled in anger.

"I'll meet you there" chief said. I growled and got my uniform and gear on. I informed Ivy and Aster in going out. I then left and headed to the market. Once I got there I walked over to chief and Leandre. "Who's doing this and why?" I asked Chief in anger. "We don't know his name. And we don't know why" she answered.

One of there officers on the force with me got close enough to talk to the man without getting shot. After a minute or so he walked back carefully. "What did you get John?" Asked chief to the officer named John.  "His name is Ryan, he's looking for the Cop that threatened his boy and his boy's friend earlier today" John responded.

I walked out towards Ryan. "Romance cop wait!" Shouted chief but I continued walking. "Hey! You looking for the Cop that threaten your son and his friend? Well I'm right here!" I shouted at him. He growled and walked up to me, gun in hand.

I wasn't fazed by it. After years of torcher and getting beaten. I'm used to weapons. "Im here as you asked Now let everyone go" I said calmly. He complied and let them go. Rose hugged me tightly. "Go to chief rose...now..." I said to her. She nodded and went to chief.

"Now what do you want?" I asked him. He said nothing and pointed his gun at me and fired 5 times. I stumbled back by the blows. I snarled at him my powers activated again and vine shot out holding him down. This allowed John to cuff him.

I walked over to Rose and Chief. Well, I was limping actually. "Oh God Chrys! We gotta get you to the hospital!" Exclaimed Chief. I looked at the wounds I had. I couldn't see them all. Suddenly my vision blurred and I passed out.

Rose's Pov

An ambulance arrived and took Chrys. They wouldn't let me ride with her which made me mad. I took Chrys's car to the hospital. Heather and Leandre following me in Heather's car. I was angry at the man that did this to Chrys.

Once we arrived we waited in the waiting room. I tapped my foot out of nervousness. All that ran through my mind was of what happened. Heather put a hand on my shoulder, "She'll be alright Rose, don't worry"

I looked at Heather, "he shot her 5 times chief!" "She's survived worse rose. Her dad and stepmother did worse" said Leandre looking at me now. "What did they do to her?" I asked her. Leandre looked at me,

"Alright here's what he did to her...."
