Chapter 13: Cop's meaning to two teens

Rose's Pov

Leandre sighed before saying, "beat her, burned her, almost drowned her, starved her, her stepbrother Sexuality harassed her, her stepmother injected different chemicals and other things to hurt Chrys, they made her stay out in the rain, they left ear out in the cold, and so on from there"

I growled in anger, "How dare they do this to her! Those....those basters!" "Please calm down Rose" said chief to me. I breathed out and calmed down a bit. "I wish I could've stopped it as soon as I found out...." Said Leandre.

"I wonder something though..." started Heather getting our attention, "the way Chrys acted when her dad appeared a week ago....she was scared then..." "she snapped when he attacked me...." I said finishing Heather's sentence. "Yeah, but why the sudden change?" Asked leandre.

"She was angry he attacked me...she wanted to protect me..." I said to them. Before anyone said anything a nurse came out and to us. I stood up, "is she okay?" The nurse nodded at me, "she's in stable condition, she was shot in the chest twice, her right leg twice and in her stomach once. She isn't allowed to speak very much so I suggest for her to write out what she wants to say"

"Can we see her?" Asked Heather to the nurse. She nodded and led us down the hall and to the room Chrys is in. Once we got there she was laying in the hospital bed. I could see her chest bandages on her. I walked over to her first. "D....Detective...." she murmured quietly. "I'm here Romance Cop, Don't talk to much okay..." I said to her.

She nodded at me and leaned her head toward me a bit. I combed my hand through her hair. "What was that man talking about when he said 'looking for the Cop that threatened his boy and his boy's friend earlier today'?" I asked her.

She reached over to a table where a note and and marker layed. She grabbed it and wrote something on it then handed it to me. 'Earlier today, two boys were messing with Ivy and Aster. I grabbed both boys by thier shirt collars and threaten them, just to scare them. I guess one boy told his dad and well...you know the rest'

I looked at Chrys after I read that. She was looking away from me. "Your very protective huh?" I asked her. She looked at me and nodded in embarrassment. "I understand me but why Ivy and Aster?" I asked her handing the notepad back to her. She took it and wrote something down again.

She handed it to me again to read. I took it and read it. 'I've bonded close to Aster and Ivy, I feel like thier my kids. I know it's sound stupid but it's honest...' I looked at Chrys, "That's understanding Chrys. We both have grown close to Ivy and Aster." She looked at me and nodded.

Heather and Leandre walked in. "Hey Chrys, how arr you feeling?" Asked leandre. I handed Chrys the notepad again. She wrote down a response and handed it to me to read. "I'm doing fine. Just sore" I read out loud to them. "The nurse said you'll be able to go home Tommorrow" said Chief. Chrys nodded at chief. Soon the nurse told us to leave for the night. We said goodbye to Chrys and left.

Next morning 5am Chrys/Rose's residence. Rose's Pov

Chrys was released from the hospital. I brought her home and to bed as the doctor instructed me to do so. I made sure the notepad, marker and phone was in her reach. The doctors gave her pain meds. They make you sleepy so she fell asleep once she layed down in bed.

I sighed a bit and went out to the livingroom. I sat on the couch and turned on the tv. "One of the officers on the force Chrys Stargazer was shot 5 times but 32 year old Ryan Rey. Reports say that Ryan had shot officer Chrys because of her threatening his son. More at ll" said the news reporter. I growled in annoyance.

"She only did that to protect Ivy and Aster..." I said to myself then went to get something eat. I felt my phone vibrate. I looked and saw it was a message from Chrys.

C- Can you make me some of your chocolate chip pancakes?

R- sure. I was about to make breakfast myself. Then I'm gonna wake up the two kids for school.

C- okay ❤ u

R- ❤ u too.

I smiled a bit and started cooking.

45 minutes later

I finished cooking and set two plates down for Ivy and Aster. I grabbed Chrys's plate and went to our room and gave her the plate. She kissed me and on the cheek and mouth thank you.

I smiled then went to wake the two kids up. I opened the door where the two are sleeping. I turned on the light and walked dover to the two. "Get up you two." I said lightly shaking them. They got up, said good morning to me, got dressed like usual and went to eat.

I followed them and ate. I told them I'd be taking them to school. "Why? Is Chrys okay?" Asked Ivy in a worried tone. Aster looked worried too. 'They really have grown close to her...' I thought to myself. "She got hurt last night...you'll probably hear about it at school. If not I'll tell you later" I said to them.

Once 6:45 rolled around I took the two to school. Using Chrys's car again. "Hey may I ask you two something?" I asked them, They nodded. "You both are close to Chrys...tell me what she's like to you."

"She's like an older sister me..." Aster answered, however Ivy seemed nervous. "What about you Ivy?" I asked her. The next words she said surprised me.

"She's like my mom..."
