Aquiver ~4

"Isn't Charlotte usually awake at this time?" Nash asks with curiosity. Both Cameron and I look up from our phones.

"Usually she is. Maybe Hayes and Char are doing something up there," I shrug. I hear a choking sound and I look at Cam who was choking on his coffee.

"Bro..." Nash says with his eyes wide. "You didn't have to make it sound that way."

"Jacob, really?" Cam asks. "You of all people decide to mention it?" I shrug.

"I'm taking Char out for a little bit. She wanted to hang out and do a little bit of Chem review before our test tomorrow."

"Sounds fun." We hear someone coming from the living room, into the kitchen and we all turn around to see Hayes. He definitely has just woken up.

"Char awake yet?" Cam asks him. He opens the fridge.

"I have no idea." I give him a confusing look.

"How do you not know?" Nash asks and I realize this is about to start an argument.

"She didn't sleep with me last night. How would I know where she is? She's probably in the second guest bedroom."

"You didn't care to check on her?"

"Why do I have to check?" Hayes frowns. "She's probably sleeping. She was up late." Cam is getting up and Hayes groans tiredly.

"Since you can't check on your girlfriend, I will. Need to make sure she's at least here."

"Why wouldn't she be? I talked to her this morning. She was doing alright." Hayes continues to make his breakfast as I look at my almost empty plate of pancakes. We hear rough footsteps coming down the steps a few minutes later and I snap my attention to see Cameron frantically worried.

"She's not in there Hayes," Cameron says and is reaching for his phone. "Where is she and where could she have gone? Oh god, she was my responsibility while she stayed here." Hayes starts to panic slightly and I watch as he drops the milk and makes his way towards the door. I quickly follow after him when Cameron doesn't get a response.

My heart accelerating and my stress level increasing, I sprint to the door after Hayes. I send a text to Char making sure to check if her phone is working.

Bestfran❤: Are you okay? We're all really worried about you and wonder where you are

I send the text as we walk across the lobby and out the door going for Hayes' jeep. I get into the passenger and Hayes is driving. Come on Char, answer your phone.

"Her car is here, I don't understand where she could have gone to."

"Do you want a crepe or maybe we can leave and go somewhere else?" My brother asks me and I look up from my menu. Aaron wanted to take me out for breakfast since there wasn't much at the house. I've been looking at the menu for quite some time.

"No, it's okay Aaron," I half smile the best I can. "I think I'll get waffles and bacon." My brother smiles and nod.

"That sounds good. You'll like that." He knows I'm not the type of person to have a big breakfast. Over the past nine months of not doing gymnastics, I have slowly adapted to try new things.

"What are you getting?" I ask wanting to continue a conversation. I haven't really spent much time with him since school has started. It's crazy how graduation is not even two weeks away.
