Aquiver ~38

•Jacob Whitesides•

"They've been knocked out all day..." I hear Grayson say. I'm not sure who he's speaking to. My mind finally operates without a headache. I must have gotten quite a lot of sleep then.

"They've been asleep since I think two," I heard Shawn say. "We left them to talk for a while and when we came back, they were both asleep."

"I knew those two would sleep peacefully if they were together," Aaron mumbles tiredly. I hear a few chuckles and I groan slightly and brace myself for the light. When I open my eyes, I blink and notice only the small lamp is on and it's dark outside.

"Wha-" I stop when I see Hayes sitting in a chair. Cameron and Nash are also here. Well everyone is here really. I frown confused.

"It's about time," Hayes chuckles. "I've been here for twenty minutes to find you two asleep." I look down and notice Charlotte snuggled up against me with her head resting on my chest.

"You're here?" I ask.

"Yeah. Came to see Char myself before I go over to the cabin. Mom is already there with Will. Nila and my dad should be getting there some time tonight with Sky. They're making dinner."

"How long have we been sleeping?" I turn to Shawn. He looks up from his laptop.

"Eight hours. It's nine now," Shawn answers. "You two both looked like you needed the rest so we didn't bother you guys."

"Better rested now?" Grayson half smiles. I nod and look towards Hayes.

"You look a lot better also Hayes."

"Yup," he smiles. "The doc told me I can't do too much, except rest. I promised to do that after I came here."

"Are you waiting... to talk to Char?"

"No," he shakes his head. "I'll be surprising her back at the cabin in the morning. Plus it's your time with her, remember?"

"Right."

"So, you'll stay with her tonight then?" Aaron asks.

"Um... sure. What about your mom?"

"She's helping my mom and Will with the planning and cooking back at the Cabin. We were hoping you would stay with her for right now since... you know. She's able to fall asleep on you within seconds without a problem."

"We wanted to wait until you woke up before we all left. We're all going to prepare for tomorrow," Jared smiles tiredly and I nod.

"She's under good hands," I yawn realizing I must be tired. They all chuckle.

"She better be," Aaron raises an eyebrow. He is the first to stand and everyone follows. They all say a quiet goodbye and Hayes is the only one who hasn't left yet.

"I'll catch up to you guys," Hayes says to Nash who stood by the door. Nash nods before shutting the door. "Thank you for being here with her."

"I owe it to her," I say to him.

"Why did you get mad at her in the first place?" He asks confusingly.

"I was so tired and confused," I sigh. "She was talking about you in her sleep and it was a nightmare. I guess... I was jealous?"

Hayes chuckles and shakes his head and I look at him in confusion.

"You should have definitely asked her what it was about. It's really not what you were thinking. Her nightmare was of me dying for some odd reason." Hayes frowns and gets the shivers. "She was so clueless why you'd get mad at her the way you did."
