Aquiver ~13

"I'm so sorry," I say afraid of what Ethan is capable of. Grayson grabs onto his brother as Ethan is about to grab me. Grayson holds Ethan back and I step back.

"You little piece of-" I look away feeling awful. I would never do that. He went too far and I wasn't thinking so this happened. I look at Grayson and he mouths for me to go. I nod quickly and turn around making my way out of the cafeteria.

As soon as I am out of the cafeteria, I make my way towards the first flight of stairs. My heart racing and my breath uneven as if I just did a floor routine about five times without a break. I reach the second floor and make my way down the big halls until I reach the secluded hall where my locker is.

Once I approach my locker, I put my combination in before a click sounds and I open my locker. Slowly I reach for my bag and shiver. I wish I had brought a sweater today. I look towards the bottom of my locker and smile weakly before I take a few things out for the rest of my classes. Next period I have free.

Where to hangout for my free period today? I feel my phone vibrating in my pocket and I look down as I reach for it. I take it out to see a text from Grayson.

Gray: Do you want to meet in our usual spot for our free period?

I quickly sent him a reply and close my locker making my way to the spot Grayson, Hayes and I use to hang out quite a lot this year.

~After School~

Jacob and I are making our way towards my locker after our last class. As we turn into the secluded hall, I can see Grayson waiting by my locker and I smile slightly. Grayson looks up from his phone and smiles as he puts his phone away.

Looking around, I make sure Ethan is not around and hopefully Hayes doesn't come around.

"Char... they're not here," Jacob says lightly as I touch my combination lock. Grayson told Jacob about the incident earlier and they both thought it was funny. Grayson didn't think I had it in me and Jacob told me that he's glad that I did that to Ethan. They have been both reassuring and kind trying to keep my mind elsewhere.

"They're not going to bother you when you have us here," Grayson half smiles. "You're safe." I nod and hug the both of them. They were both unaware I was going to hug them so suddenly and they both hug me. I am in the middle and can feel reassurance.

"We're here for you Char,"Jacob says as they both pull away and I look between the both of them. Grayson takes out the small bag I packed for the gym since we are going there today.

"Speaking of support, do you want Aaron, Cam or Nash to be with us there to watch you today? It's a pretty big day."

"Nash would only wonder why Hayes isn't there then he'll wonder if I ever told him about my surgery and going back to gymnastics." Grayson shuts my locker for me and I put the lock on. The three of us make our way towards the student parking lot.

"Maybe you should tell him that you and Hayes aren't together anymore. So Nash doesn't think you guys are. He and Cam actually had stuff planned for you this weekend or was helping Hayes. You should probably tell Nash." I only nod wishing this was easy for me.

"I'll text them to meet us where we meetup." They both nod as we start to talk about gymnastics.
