It was a week after the party and I’d only communicated with Niall via text. I was keeping my distance from him. I told him I was tied up at work and couldn’t get away from the hospital and I longed for him to come to the hospital and surprise me like he once had but he never did.

“Why so gloomy?...Again,” April asked for the billionth time that week.

“Promise you won’t say ‘I told you so’?” I asked and she nodded before joining me on my bed.

Once she had settled I told her all about my revelation about my feelings towards Niall. When I glanced towards her I saw her literally biting her cheeks and I rolled my eyes.

“Say it. Get it over with,” I said pulling a face.

“I TOLD YOU SO!” she shouted and I winced at her loudness and then she hit me. “But he’s with Anna now!”

            “I know.”

            “He’s happy.”

            “I know.”

            “Your stupid.”

“I know and thanks for the support,” I said sarcastically.

“I’ll be back in two minutes.” April whisked away and I heard bustling in the kitchen whilst I just thought about Niall and Anna being happy and being bitter about it.

Ten minutes later April cam back in my room with a bucket of chocolate ice cream, two big spoons stuck in the ice cream, a huge packet of chips, three seasons of Supernatural and a bag of banana lollies. Pretty much she had brought all of my favourite things.

“We’re going to sit and watch Supernatural, you can cry if you want and I’ll pretend not to notice and we can pig out on all your favourite food.”

“This is why I love you,” I smiled as she dumped everything carefully on my bed before going to put the disc into the DVD player.

I’ll give myself credit though. I didn’t cry like a baby. Maybe a tear fell but it was quickly brushed away and forgotten about.

“So does this mean you’re not anti-relationships anymore?” April asked after a while.

I considered for a moment. “Put it this way. I can see myself in a relationship with Niall.”

I was sitting across the table from Niall. We finally made it to Stucky’s at one o’clock. Just us two. It felt good. I felt like I had been waiting for it my whole life.

“The fans are hounding me,” Niall said running a hand over his face.

            “Why?”

“Photos of Anna and I got to the internet. Fans saying they ship it and others are saying Anna should go die.”

            “Woah!”

“Yep,” he agreed, “But I can handle it. I’ll just delete my Twitter app on my phone for a while until everything settles down.”

“You can’t say anything?” I asked.

“No, we always have to be nice to the fans even on Twitter.”

“You know I’ve never had a Twitter,” I said after a moment because I didn’t know what else to say. It must suck having all these people who are meant to support you give you negative opinions and advice about your life.
