I touched up my bright red lipstick and smiled as Niall called my name from the living room saying we were going to be late.
“You shush,” I said walking into the living room where he was waiting impatiently. “Okay so I’ve gotten Alexa, Connor and Sophie a present,” I said bending by the Christmas tree April and I had put up to grab the presents. It was pretty with silver and gold baubles and ornaments.
“That wasn’t necessary.”
“I wanted to and I need to formally congratulate Perrie on the pregnancy. I didn’t get a chance to speak to her properly at the party two weeks ago. It was so nice of her and Zayn to invite me.”
“You’re cute when you’re nervous,” Niall stated and I shot him a filthy look.
“I am not nervous!”
“Whatever you say, Red Lips,” Niall smirked and I poked my tongue out at him, “Come on let’s go before the party finishes.”
I rolled my eyes at him. He was being over dramatic. We weren’t even late yet. The party started at seven and it was ten to seven. So I couldn’t understand his need to get there at seven on the dot.
“Let’s go,” I announced finally ready to leave, “Just grab the cake off the bench for me.”
“You look beautiful by the way,” Niall said randomly and I blushed looking down. My hair was curled so it sat just above my shoulders and I wore a black and white checkered skirt with a white shirt tucked in with heeled ankle boots. I slipped my red coat on and smiled.
“Thank you. You look okay,” I joked. In actual fact Niall looked very handsome. His blonde hair was gelled up and he wore a button up shirt with the sleeves rolled up and jeans.
“Such a charmer,” he joked and I smiled as I placed a kiss on his lips.
“You look handsome. Now shall we get going?” I said and then I looked at his face and noticed a small lipstick stain. I giggled and licked my thumb before wiping it off. “Lipstick,” I explained when he started looking at me weirdly. “Okay,” I said getting it off, “Now are you ready to go?”
“Yes,” he said happily, “We should take an umbrella. It’s raining.”
“I have just the one,” I announced going to the umbrella bucket and picking out an old Armani umbrella whilst balancing the three presents on one hand.
“You’ve kept it after all this time?” Niall asked shocked and I nodded.
“Of course I kept it. What’d you think I was going to do with it?”
“Well I actually thought after, you know,” he said awkwardly and I nodded hastily so he’d continue, “Anyway I thought after that you would’ve burned it or smashed it into a billion pieces of something of the sort.”
“You know I took it with me to Australia?”
“You did?”
“I couldn’t bear to leave it behind. It was my way of bringing you with me.”
Niall’s lips met mine and after a few minutes I pulled back and sighed, “We should really get going.” I looked at his face again and groaned. “You have another lipstick stain now.”
