Chapter 38 Awake

Your POV

Floating. Floating endlessly through a black void, devoid of life, except for me. I am just waiting for the pleasure of floating here to be taken away and for me to be dropped off on Earth. My mind starts to shift into who killed me and what I was just doing. That's right . . . I was in a coma, but why? I can't remember how long either. Who killed me? Then, I hear it. "Return to Earth. It's not your time and it never will be."

Kenny's POV

It's been twenty minutes. It's never taken this long before. I guess it needed to adjust her body to being out of a coma. After I stabbed her, I walked home and sat on the couch, waiting for her to wake up. Every minute felt like a hour. Every minute that passed felt like knives piercing into my skin. I'm so tired of waiting. I just want to hear her voice again. Everything is better. Everything is already better as I feel her arms wrap around my neck. She whispers in my ear, "You killed me, didn't you?" "I didn't have a choice." "Yeah, you did! Aww . . . did you miss me?" "Of course I did, but we have a bigger problem." "What?" "They're back, (Name)." "Kenny, you're going to have to be more specific then that," she laughed. "Doctor Destruction and Darkness, they escaped from prison. And I'm willing to bet they're the ones that hit you with that dart." Her laughter almost instantly ceased and she grew tense. "R-r-really?" "Yeah. But we'll get them. Don't worry." "Yeah, I know." She jumps over the couch and lands next to me. I wrap my arms around her. "I missed you." "I missed you, too," she replies and buries her face in my chest. Somewhere along the way, after a while of just talking, she falls asleep, still buried in my chest. I sigh and then smile, how can I complain? She looks so cute. I gently pick her up, bridal style. She moans a little bit, but returns to her silent peaceful state. I walk downstairs into the basement and place her in bed. I cover her with the blanket and then head back upstairs. I grab my costume and change quickly. Then, I head out the door and disappear into the night. I only have one objective: find Doctor Destruction and Darkness and do what I should have done. I'll kill them.
