"I asked for you guys to come here two hours early to help me, not to make it more of a hassle to get everything together!" Stephen berated hastily.
Draymond and Klay were entangled in party streamers that were supposed to be hung up on the wall thirty minutes ago. "Chill out, Curry, you already have half of the decorations finished. You honestly didn't even need us here," Klay chuckled, twisting his body in different positions in order to free himself from the glitter-gilded golden streamers, making sure not to mess up his suit. "Yeah, it's not like ya' yellow ass needed us anyway," Draymond stated, shrugging as he gathered up all the streamers that laid upon the floor, looking down at his dress shoes shortly afterwards.
Stephen looked up at the clock— 7:48 p.m. Taking a deep breath, Stephen turned to his two best friends with concerned orbs, "You both know I'm trying to make this party as perfect as possible. Sammy deserves the best, and that's what I'm trying to give her".
Stephen and Sammy had been friends ever since Sammy's family moved next door to Stephen's family when they were thirteen years old. Attending the same junior high, high school, and, eventually, college, their friendship blossomed into an even closer bond, causing their love for each other to mend into something unbreakable. Sammy had always been there for Stephen through his trying times, especially once he was drafted into the NBA; throughout the chaos of insane women chasing after the love of her life and not being able to see Stephen as much as she wanted to because of his busy schedule, she always supported his love for the sport, and that's what made Stephen realize how one of a kind Sammy really was.
"She's gonna say yes, Steph. Why are you so nervous?" Klay asked, raising an eyebrow as he grabbed some of the colorful pins from the table, hanging up the streamers on the wall of the enlarged room. "That girl is in love with you," Draymond added, nodding his head with a semi-annoyed expression upon his face, "every time we go out, it's 'doesn't Stephen look so sexy in his warm-up suit?', 'did Stephen take his lunch I packed for him?', 'did Ste—".
"I get it, I get it," Stephen huffed, rolling his eyes at Draymond's impersonations of his future fiancé, "I've just never felt this way about any girl before, man." Taking the ring box out of his pants pocket, he opened it slowly to see the 24k diamond ring glistening in front of his eyes, "She's changed my outlook on so many things, and to think this girl is really all mine is still hard for me to believe, even if it has been twelve years.. Damn, I feel old".
"We got your back, Steph; everything will go as planned. Look," Klay motioned towards the see through glass windows so Steph could turn his attention towards his and Sammy's family members that were walking towards the entrance, "guests are already arriving. Just keep your cool, and focus on what you're going to do and say".
With a pat on the back from Draymond and a soft smile from Klay, Stephen closed the ring box and put it back in his pants pocket and adjusted his black suit and tie as he walked over to the entrance to greet everyone as they walked in.

"I'm still surprised that Stephen pulled all this off without you knowing, Sammy," Sammy's cousin, Gya, smiled as she took in the beautiful scenery surrounding her. The room decorated in a black and gold color scheme, everyone dressed in their best formal attire, champagne filled in every whine glass on the tables, family and friends mingling amongst each other— everything was stunning.
