"Baby, can you help me with this tray please?" Rilan voiced as her husband, Kyrie, jogged down the steps and into the kitchen. Taking the tray of small sandwiches and hot wings in his hands, Kyrie planted a soft kiss along Rilan's cheek, causing a smile to form along her lips. "Thank you, baby, I appreciate it."

"No problem, princess," Kyrie smiled, walking over to the living room and placing the tray down on the counter in front of the couch set. Kyrie had invited a couple of the boys to come over and play some basketball, for they needed to stay in shape during their off season to keep up with the other team's next season. The day also had significance because it was his and Rilan's two year wedding anniversary; although most wives would like to spend special days like this alone with their husbands, Rilan was a more laid back kind of female, and she didn't mind her husband having a little fun with his friends because she knew how hard he worked on the court and in their relationship.

"Thanks again for letting the boys come over today, babe. I know you didn't have to share this day with them, but it means a lot that you are," Kyrie smiled, "You think of them as family, and I know they look at you the same way." "Of course, love. I know how hard you all work, and if getting together during off season helps you guys relax more, I'm all for it," Rilan nodded, walking over to the sink in the kitchen to wash her hands.

The doorbell to the Irving's household filled the two lovers' ears, causing Kyrie's smile to widen even more. Kyrie walked over to the front door and opened it, looking at LeBron and Kevin who stood next to each other outside of the doorway. "Wassup, y'all? Come on in," Kyrie stated, opening the door a bit wider so the LeBron and Kevin could walk in. "Wassup man?" LeBron said, looking over at Rilan who had just wiped her hands off with a paper towel, "What's goin' on Mrs. Irving?"

Rilan turned her attention to LeBron and Kevin and returned their heart-warming smiles, waving, "Hey, guys. There's some food in the living room— just some appetizers." "Oh, we actually get to taste some of your food tonight, Rilan?" Kevin teased, taking off his shoes by the doorway, and LeBron doing the same, following one of Rilan's many house-friendly rules. Rilan let out a giggle and shook her head softly, "You just might, Love, only if you don't cause a fuss after you get your ankles broken by Mr. Irving here."

Kevin smacked his lips and frowned, shaking his head, "I do not get my ankles broken by him. Right, LeBron?" Everyone turned their attention to LeBron who was holding in a slight chuckle. "Sorry, Kev, you get crossed up every single time you guard Kyrie," LeBron said, finally letting out the chuckle he was holding in. Kevin rolled his eyes slowly as Kyrie patted him on the shoulder, laughing along with LeBron, "It's alright, man. I'll go easy on your delicate bones this time. Wouldn't want you sitting out the start of the season because of an injury."

Kevin shrugged off Kyrie's hand and shook his head, mumbling, "Yeah, yeah, whatever." "We'll be out back if you need us, baby," Kyrie nodded, looking over at Rilan. "Alright. Be careful please," Rilan lectured as the three men made their way to the backyard. "Okay, mom," LeBron called out, causing Rilan to throw the paper towel she had used to wipe her hands off at LeBron's head. "Whatever crybaby."

Rilan stood in the doorway of her glass slide door, watching Kevin, Kyrie, and LeBron shooting around and laughing amongst one another. It had been about three hours since the men had been outside playing around, and they hadn't even touched the food Rilan made for them.

"Kyrie, can I talk to you for a second?" Rilan called out, waiting for Kyrie to acknowledge her presence. "In a second, baby. Let me finish this game of 'HORSE', alright?" he called out, not even looking over at her. Rilan shook her head softly and exited the doorway, closing the slide door and walking over to the counter in the living room. She picked up the tray of food and set it on the counter, covering it with a large piece of paper towel. "I guess they'll eat it when they're ready," Rilan mumbled to herself, exiting out of the kitchen and upstairs to her and Kyrie's bedroom.

"Man, that game was intense. LeBron and Kevin just left with the sandwiches and wings, babe, so the food didn't go to waste at all," Kyrie said as he walked into him and his wife's bedroom, taking his shirt off as he walked into the bathroom. "Mkay," Rilan shrugged, flipping through R.H. Sin's 'Whiskey Words and a Shovel' Volume III.

Kyrie's eyebrows furrowed at the tone in Rilan's voice. She was just happy an hour or so ago; what's the problem now? "Are you okay, baby?" Kyrie asked, giving Rilan his full attention as he slowly walked out of the bathroom and towards his wife. "I'm perfectly fine. Go take a shower," Rilan stated, not looking up at Kyrie. Letting out a sigh, Kyrie leaned over and took the book out of Rilan's hands gently.

"Give me the book back please."

"Not until you tell me what's wrong with you."

"You seriously don't know?" Rilan asked with a raise of an eyebrow, giving Kyrie a dumbfounded look, "You seriously blew me off the entire time Kevin and LeBron were here, Kyrie. Yes, I allowed you to spend time with your guy friends, and I didn't have a problem with them coming over, but completely ignoring my presence when it's our freakin' wedding anniversary? Seriously? Basketball's more important than me?"

Kyrie could sense the aggravation in Rilan's voice, and he hated to know that she was upset with him. He was so caught up in the game that he didn't know he made Rilan feel as though she wasn't as important to him at the moment. "Baby, I'm sorry," Kyrie sighed, sitting beside her on the bed, "I didn't mean for you to feel as though you weren't as important as basketball, alright? Yes, my love for basketball is evident, but the love I have for you surpasses that. I love you, Rilan. Again, I'm sorry."

Rilan looked in Kyrie's eyes and saw the sincerity he had; she couldn't help but give him a reassuring smile. "I love you too." "Can I have a kiss?" Kyrie asked while leaning in, only for his lips to be met with Rilan's index finger. "You need to take a shower because you smell terrible," Rilan laughed, "You'll get your kiss afterward."

"Mhm, and you'll be getting more than a kiss once I get out too," Kyrie smirked, "Ima' make all this up to you, baby, don't you worry."

Rilan blushed as she watched Kyrie wiggle his eyebrows at her and make his way back to the bathroom. "I love this man so much."

i hope you enjoyed it, rilan.
