"Would you chew your damn food instead of scarfing it down your throat, Adri? My gosh," Adri's best friend, Reyne, scrunched up her face in disgust. "Shut up, I haven't eaten all day," Adri scoffed, rolling her eyes as she took another bite of her pizza slice.
Adri and Reyne were currently at the bowling alley, XLanes LA, which was close to the Staples center. They had just finished watching the Lakers take the win against the Clippers, and you could say that they weren't done having fun just yet; Reyne had a special surprise for her best friend.
"Plus, it's your fault for dragging me here anyway. You know I have school tomorrow, and I can't afford to be late to Mr. Mount's lecture on sleeping disorders," Adri said, looking up at her best friend who wore a sudden smile on her face.
"Stop worrying about your major for a second, and just wait. I told you I had a surprise for you."
"Yeah, yeah," Adri sighed, finishing up her eighth slice of pizza. Before she could pick up another, she noticed two familiar looking faces walking her and Reyne's way. Standing up from her chair with a sly smirk, Reyne turned her attention to the two males that finally made their way to Reyne and Adri's table.
"Hey Jordan. How are you?" Reyne asked politely, embracing the 6'5, light skinned male that stood beside her, turning her attention to the caramel complexioned man who stood beside him, "Hey D'Angelo."
Eyes widening as she heard Reyne address the men, Adri finally looked up to see the two gentlemen that were standing beside her were no other than Jordan Clarkson and D'Angelo Russell. Jaw dropping, she turned her attention to Reyne who winked at her best friend.
"Jordan, D'Angelo, this is Adri. She's a big fan, and I wanted to surprise her with the presence of two of the members from her favorite team," Reyne smiled, motioning towards the young woman who still sat in shock.
Jordan looked at Adri and smiled, raising an eyebrow at her goofy expression, "Hey, Adri. Reyne's told me a lot about you, even though she really hasn't mentioned us."
"U-uh.. Uh.." Adri choked, licking her lips slowly as she shifted her eyes from Jordan to D'Angelo who was already looking back at her, "N-nice to meet you both."
Watching D'Angelo's mouth turn up into a wide smile, Adri felt her cheeks grow hot, causing her to look down at the empty plate that was once holding her many slices of pizza. Noticing her shyness, Reyne decided to break the ice a bit.
"You know, D'Angelo, Adri's always had a bit of a celebrity crush on you."
"Oh really?" D'Angelo's deep voice rang out around the group. Adri's head shot up at her best friend's statement, watching Reyne give her an innocent smile.
"Yes, really," Reyne added, causing Adri to mouth 'shut up' after her reply.
"Isn't that sweet?" D'Angelo smirked, licking his lips at Adri as she looked up at him, blushing even more than she already was.
Noticing D'Angelo's phsyical attraction to Adri, Reyna looked up at Jordan and wrapped her arm around his, "Why don't we go pay for a lane? Maybe play a game or two?"
"Sounds great! You down for that, D'Lo?" Jordan smiled, looking at D'Angelo who still had his eyes set on Adri. "Yeah, yeah.. Call me when the lane's ready," D'Angelo nodded, dismissing Jordan and Reyne from the table.
"Well then," Jordan chuckled as Reyne pulled him over to the counter where rental shoes were picked up and lanes were paid for.
After Jordan and Reyne left their area, D'Angelo took Reyne's seat across from Adri, leaning his elbows on the table, "So, celebrity crush?"
"Please ignore her, she's just.. She loves to embarrass me," Adri let out a small laugh, leading D'Angelo to follow along with her.
"Hey, it's fine. Reyne's been a good friend since '08, and I can't believe she didn't tell you about Jordan and I," D'Angelo stated, continuing to smile.
"She probably knew I would freak out," Adri nodded, smiling as well, for D'Angelo's smile was contagious.
"Jordan and I are regular people, you know? We just do what we love for a living," D'Angelo shrugged.
Adri admired D'Angelo's down to earth nature. She always thought of him to be little high maintenance, for most celebrities she came in counter with or heard about were. She was surprised— in the most positive way possible.

"Okay, so you definitely cheated in the last round. I should've won," Adri laughed, nudging D'Angelo as he smiled, walking out of the bowling alley along with Adri with Jordan and Reyne following shortly behind. "Nah, man, you just really can't bowl. You couldn't even keep the ball straight," he laughed, causing Adri to pout playfully.
"Hey, leave me alone."
Reyne smiled at Adri's newfound comfortability around D'Angelo. When it came to Adri making new friends, she was never really as successful; she was really shy, and it took her a while to get used to someone after first meeting them. With D'Angelo and Jordan? It was different, and she couldn't be happier about it.
"I'm glad you had fun tonight," Jordan added, his arm wrapped around Reyne's shoulders lazily. Adri looked back at the two and smiled softly; she couldn't help but think something was going on between the two. Knowing Reyne, she was probably trying to make something happen.
"I'm glad Reyne introduced us," Adri nodded, causing Jordan to smile.
As the group walked to the parking lot across the street, Reyne and Jordan walked towards their cars as D'Angelo and Adri strolled behind them slowly.
"Do you have a lot of friends?" D'Angelo asked.
"No; Reyne's my only real friend. I have some associates in college, but they're really only my study groups. I'm not big on socializing; never been good at it," Adri explained.
"You were good tonight. I really enjoyed myself, and I'd love to hang out with you more.. Maybe without Jordan and Reyne?"
Adri bit down on her bottom lip slightly as she blushed, looking down at her shoes, then quickly looking up at D'Angelo who had a smirk upon his face.
"How about you give me your number and we can arrange something?" Adri asked, cocking her head to the side.
"Sounds like a plan."
After putting each other's numbers in one another's cell phones, the two caught up with Jordan and Reyne who were having a conversation of their own.
"We'll see y'all later then. We should all go out together and do something again; tonight was fun," Jordan stated, unlocking the door to his vehicle.
"We definitely should," Reyne said, doing the same.
"Bye D'Lo," Adri smiled, referring to D'Angelo as his nickname.
Looking her up and down slightly, D'Angelo smiled at Adri, "See you soon, baby girl."
i hope you liked it, adri! ♡
