"Are you really not having fun, Thea?" Thea's best friend, Jenevive, asked. Although Jenevive had brought Thea out for a girl's night, Thea felt miserable. It had been a week since her break up with her now ex-boyfriend, Geo, and you could see she was still taking it hard. "I just don't think it was a wise idea for me to come out tonight," Thea sighed while twirling the small black straw that floated in her alcoholic beverage that was still full to the brim.

"You need to take your mind off him. He cheated, Thea; you deserve so much better than that," Jenevive emphasized, causing Thea to squirm in her seat and frown. "I get it, Jen.. I just think I should go home; it's too soon for me to be out living single," Thea stated, sliding herself from off the stool that was seated next to the bar table.

Jenevive sighed softly and got out of her seat as well, glancing around the room and catching a pair of orbs staring in her and Thea's direction. Following the person's gaze, Jenevive's eyes landed on no other than Thea. Smirking, Jenevive turned Thea around quickly, "Look who's checking you out."

Thea looked up to see a pair of chocolate brown eyes staring into hers. Watching as the tall figure made its way towards her, she felt her heart rate speed up rapidly as well as her palms becoming sweaty; standing in front of her was no other than Ricky Rubio.

"Hey," he smiled softly, "I couldn't help but notice how beautiful you looked across the room; I would be a fool not to approach a woman of your caliber." Blushing softly, Thea looked down at the ground, quickly looking up once Ricky began to speak again.

"I'm Ricky by the way."

"I know who you are," Thea giggled, "Who wouldn't?"

"Good point," Ricky chuckled, biting down on his bottom lip. There was something about Thea that he couldn't quite put his finger on; all he knew was that he liked it. Feeling a pair of orbs staring into the side of his face, Ricky glanced over at Jenevive who was smiling widely, gawking at the two individuals.

"Is this a friend of yours?" Ricky asked as he raised his eyebrow, releasing a soft chuckle. Thea turned her attention to Jenevive, giving her one of her 'cut it out' looks. Snapping out of her trance, Jenevive took her drink and smiled at the two, "Why don't I just give you both some privacy." Once Jenevive scurried off, Ricky turned his attention back to Thea, "Mind if we sit down and talk a bit? I'd like to get to know you better."

Thea's smile slowly faded at the question, reminding her of her failed attempt at a relationship with her ex. "I actually just got out of a relationship, and it's been tough for me, so I'm not ready to try out another one." "Who said anything about trying out a relationship?" Ricky questioned, cocking his head to the side as he slowly sat on the stool sitting beside the bar, "I just want to have a friendly conversation with a beautiful, intelligent-looking woman."

Thea cracked a small smile at Ricky's kindness, for he had a way of making her feel comfortable around him even if they had just met. "Well if that's the case, why not?" Thea shrugged, sitting beside Ricky.

Two hours had passed and Thea and Ricky were already laughing and sharing a couple drinks together, speaking on trying times and their most embarrassing moments.

"You really spilled the Vodka all over her Louis Vuitton dress, Ricky? How clumsy can you be?" Thea giggled, covering her mouth with her hand to hide her wide smile. Ricky shrugged and let out a short laugh, "Hey, it was an accident; I was pretty drunk that night."

Thea couldn't help but forget about all her problems when she spoke to Ricky. He was sensitive to her feelings, for he didn't mention any of his past relationships because he knew what she was going through at the time; although he was attracted to Thea, he didn't want to come on too strong, for it may turn her off.

"I know this is a pretty weird question to ask, but could I get your number? I'd really like to call you sometime so maybe we could get to know each other more.. outside of a club," Ricky asked politely. With a slight nod, Thea responded by taking her phone out of her purse, "Sure." Thea clicked the home button of her iPhone only to see that her device had gone dead. With a slight huff, she looked up at Ricky with sorrowful eyes, "My phone died.. Do you have yours on you?"

"I left mine in my hotel room," Ricky sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. Thea tugged on her bottom lip with her teeth as she thought, quickly scrambling through her purse to find a pen; taking Ricky's hand, she began to write her number down on his palm.

"Call me when you get back to your hotel room."

With a slight smirk, Ricky nodded and took his alcoholic beverage in his hand, taking a quick sip and setting the glass back down, "Sounds like a plan."

"You know you were excited to see your boo, Ricky play tonight, Thea," Jenevive nudged, causing Thea to blush slightly. It had been a month since Ricky and Thea's encounter at the club, and Thea hadn't heard a single word from Ricky.

"He probably forgot all about me by now, Jenevive. He didn't call; it wasn't meant to be, and I'm okay with that," Thea nodded continently. Jenevive and Thea continued to walk down towards the exit that was by the Wolves' locker room. "Don't speak so soon," Jenevive smirked, pointing towards Ricky who was smiling widely, walking in their direction.

Thea's eyes lit up as she saw Ricky making his way towards her and Jenevive; Thea decided to meet him halfway, fixing her hair as she walked. Pulling her into a hug, Ricky spoke into Thea's ear, "I thought I'd never see you again."

"You could've seen me sooner if you would've called," Thea chuckled, releasing Ricky from the thirty second long embrace. "I'm sorry, I got back to the hotel room and saw that your number had been smeared off my hand. It must have been from the glass I was drinking out of," Ricky explained.

"Hey, it's okay. We're here together now, right? Let's make the best of it," Thea nodded. With a slight smirk applied on his face, Ricky pulled out his iPhone and unlocked it for Thea, putting it in her hand, "Now type in your number so we can keep in contact this time."

i hope you enjoyed it, thea!
