As she scrolled down Jordan's Instagram feed, Lindsey let out a soft sigh, setting her phone down beside her as she sat on the olive colored couch. She had been refreshing her boyfriend's social media page for the past twenty minutes, for he had promised her to post one of the selfies they had taken early in the day, only for her to be disappointed yet again.
Lindsey and Jordan had been an item for two months now— an item on the down-low to be exact. Lindsey hated being kept in the dark from Jordan's fans, or from the public eye in general. Jordan swore it was to protect her from the craziness that is his life, but she lived for his craziness; it hurt her to feel as though Jordan was ashamed of her, and almost made her think about calling it quits altogether.
As Jordan walked through the front door of the household they both shared, Lindsey turned her attention to her adoring lover who seemed to have been happier than usual. Lindsey, on the other hand, looked as though her puppy had been ran over right in front of her, which made an ecstatic Jordan Clarkson transform into a worried lover.
"Baby girl, what's wrong?" he asked as he walked over to the couch Lindsey sat on, looking into her orbs that he could see were full of hurt and confusion, "What did I do?"
"You promised me, Jordan," Lindsey whispered, shaking her head softly and scooting away from the man that sat next to her, causing his face to soften up. Jordan had forgotten all about the picture, for he was out with his teammates majority of the day.
"Lindsey, I'm sorry. I just got caught up do—"
"Doing things with people who are obviously more important than me, right? Since no one knows about me and all."
"Please don't be like that.. I'm gonna tell them."
"When, Jordan? You said that weeks ago, and you can't even post a lousy picture of us on your damn Instagram page. I know posting us all over social media doesn't define who we are, but nobody knows you're off the market. You have different hoes coming up to you like you're they're next victim of the night, and I'm not fuckin' with it!" Lindsey exclaimed, listening to her Bronx accent flow fluently from her lips.
Jordan's eyes closed at the sound of her voice, for he knew that once that infamous accent was heard, she was beyond upset. "Baby, I'm—" Jordan started off only to be cut off by Lindsey's hand raising up eight inches away from his face. "Save it, Jordan. I'm going to bed," Lindsey rebutdtaled, causing Jordan to sigh and run his hand over his waves, watching his girlfriend walk up the steps towards their bedroom.
Jordan never knew keeping her away from harms way would cause their relationship to start crumbling. He never wanted to see his princess hurt, and to know that he was the cause of her hurt made his heart ache even more.
"I have to make it up to her— somehow, someway."
And with that, Jordan took his phone out the front pocket of his hoodie, unlocking it and contacting some of his teammates.
He had a plan, and he needed to be sure it would play out perfectly.

The following night was the night of Jordan's game, and although Lindsey was still frustrated with him, she refused to miss the opportunity to support him.
Lindsey sat behind the Laker's bench, watching as Jordan dribbled the ball down the court. The Lakers were down by three with forty-two seconds left on the clock. The entire Staples Center was filled with cheers coming from the Laker fans, as well as worrisome faces from the Trailblazer's fans.
Lindsey stood up from her seat to fully analyze what was going on on the court; Jordan was calculating a play in his mind when Damian Lillard started to press him defensively. Jordan dribbled the ball in between his legs and transitioned to the right side of the court, trying to find an open man, only to no avail.
Looking up at the clock, he watched as the time ran down.
5, 4, 3, 2..
Making sure he was behind the three point line, Jordan shot the basketball towards the basket, watching it in float in the air. Lindsey, as well as everyone else in the stadium, watched as well, screaming once they saw the ball fall into the basket.
All of the Lakers on the bench ran onto the court to join the celebration between the five other players. Jordan, who was engulfed in a manly group hug, laughed and yelled at the top of his lungs, earning a soft giggle from Lindsey. She was so proud of him, and no argument could make her emotions falter.
Jordan finally broke out of the group hug, catching eyes with the love of his life, making his way towards her quickly. Lindsey watched in confusion as he took her hands in his, dragging her to the center of the basketball court; letting go of her hands and taking her cheeks into the palms of his sweaty hands, Jordan pressed her lips against hers, tasting the freshly applicated strawberry chapstick coming from her lips.
D'Angelo pointed to the camera men and motioned them to now point their cameras towards the lovely couple. Every fan stopped celebrating and looked up on the widescreen, cheering and 'awe'ing at the sight in front of them.
Pulling away from the kiss slowly, Jordan looked down at Lindsey, who was blushing immensely from her boyfriend's actions. Both of them turned their attention towards the cameras all around them, smiling.
Lindsey looked back at Jordan and tried to speak over the many voices in the gymnasium, "You planned this?"
"What kind of boyfriend would I be if I didn't, princess? You're important to me, and I'll be damned if I lose you because of my idiotic actions. It's official— it's been official. You're mine, forever and always," Jordan declared.
Lindsey nodded slowly and got on her tippy toes, pressing her lips against Jordan's once more as everyone else around them continued to celebrate.
What a great night.
i hope you enjoyed it, lindsey! ☻
