"Harrisyn, you're blowing this situation out of proportion!" Anthony yelled as he followed his girlfriend of two years, Harrisyn, into the kitchen of his house.

After witnessing the Pelican's loss against the Chicago Bulls, Harrisyn decided to go to the locker rooms to go and comfort her distraught partner. On her way down, she overheard a conversation Anthony was having with an 'old friend' from high school, hearing Anthony agree to having dinner with her sometime next week. Livid, Harrisyn decided to leave her partner to fend for himself while she made her way back to his house to gather her things, for she had slept over the night before.

"I don't want to speak to you, Anthony," Harrisyn growled, looking in the refrigerator for a bottle of water. Coming up close behind her, Anthony shut the refrigerator door, grabbed Harrisyn by her waist, and spun her around so she was now facing him, "What is your deal? What did I even do?"

"You know exactly what you did," Harrisyn spoke, looking nowhere but at Anthony's chest since it was the only thing she could see in front of her, "If I was to agree to go on a dinner date with a 'high school' friend, you'd be pissed, but suddenly, I can't feel the way I feel?"

Anthony sighed and took Harrisyn's chin between his thumb and index finger, making her look up at him, "I didn't even know it was that serious, Harrisyn. You're never this upset when I want to hang out with a friend".

"I'm never upset because it isn't a date. I'm nowhere near jealous of this female, but the fact that you accepted the invitation without even thinking about how I would feel is very inconsiderate of you," Harrisyn stated with a roll of the eyes, crossing her arms over her chest, "Now if you don't mind, I'd actually like to get back to my place so I can think about some things without you being around".

Confusion covered Anthony's face as he watched Harrisyn walk around him and into the living room. Anthony never thought Harrisyn would be this upset about something so small— well, at least he thought it was something small. He and Harrisyn had me an oath that they would never let anything or anyone get in between them; they wanted to have a mature, long lasting relationship, and, until now, both of them had kept their vow to one another.

"Away from me?"

"Away from you.. I think we should take a break."

"E-excuse me?" Anthony asked, now standing beside Harrisyn as she gathered her things and looked up at him. "I think we should take a break. Things are hectic right now, and I think we just need some time apart," Harrisyn nodded, making her way towards the front door.

Anthony couldn't even follow her; he was still focused on the three words that would change his life— take a break?

*

Anthony sat on his couch in his living room, blankly staring at the flat screen television that was mounted against the wall. It had been a good month since the 'break' that turned into a 'break up' with Harrisyn; no contact, no nothing.

Anthony was as miserable as could be— only getting up to eat, go to practice, or just sleep. He needed Harrisyn with him, for she was the the only person he looked forward to seeing every single day, and to not have her by his side anymore kilt him to the deepest extent.
