Adri quickly parked her car in the parking lot of Stater Bros. Quickly unfastening her seatbelt and exiting out of her vehicle with her cellphone in her hand, Adri closed and locked her car doors as she swiftly made her way into the supermarket. Pressing the home button that belonged to her rose gold iPhone 6s, she read the time, feeling her stomach drop.

5:49 p.m.

Today was Adri's little sister's birthday, and her mother had set up a party for her at their house at 5:30 p.m. Her mother put her in charge of the birthday cake and scolded her about picking it up before the party began; I'm sure you can understand Adri's dilemma.

Almost running towards the bakery section of the store, she felt her small body bounce off a quite muscular one, catching herself before she fell on her ass. "My apologies," the masculine voice rang out sympathetically. "It's fine," Adri mumbled, moving around the man without looking up at him.

Before she could make her way to the bakery counter, the man's hand had taken ahold of her wrist, causing her to look back at him. Adri's eyes widened as she looked up to see Tyler Ulis looking down at her with a soft smile. "Hey.. I really am sorry," he spoke again, making sure his voice was a bit less deep to soothe Adri, for Tyler saw the astonishment on her face. Adri opened her mouth to speak to no avail, causing Tyler to let out a soft chuckle. "You good?"

"P-perfect," Adri whispered, taking in the point guard's appearance. Damn, was he fine. His chiseled could be seen from a mile away, just like his smile. His black t-shirt fit him perfectly and his Nike sweats went perfectly with his all black Roshe's. Tyler waved his hand in front of his face, snapping Adri out of her thoughts as she blushed in embarrassment. Tyler let a small smirk form upon his face, "You seem to be in a rush. What were you trying to get? Maybe I could go get it for you."

"Oh, that's very nice of you, but the item I'm here for is under my name, so," Adri smiled, turning on her heel to try to walk over to the counter once more, only to be stopped by Tyler again. "Oh, well, what are you here for?" Tyler asked with a raise of an eyebrow. Adri turned back to face Tyler, "It's my little sister's birthday today and I'm in charge of the cake. I'm actually late, so I need to get going; it was really nice talking to you though."

Tyler stared at Adri as she turned on her heel again, successfully walking towards the counter; she pressed her palm against the silver bell that sat comfortably near a book full of cake decorations, waiting for someone to come to her assistance. Licking his lips slowly, Tyler couldn't help but take in Adri's features, just as she did with him; she was absolutely stunning, even when she was stressed out and in a hurry.

All the items on Tyler's grocery list slipped his mind as he made his way over to Adri who was growing even more anxious by the second. Tyler leaned against the counter and looked down at her once again; Adri slowly looked up to see Tyler in her presence, arching an eyebrow. "Weren't you on your way to checkout or something?" Adri asked. "I can't really check anything out if I haven't gotten anything yet, sweetheart," Tyler laughed, causing Adri to rub the back of her neck in embarrassment. "Right; sorry."

"No need to be sorry," Tyler shrugged, taking his eyes off of her to look for someone in the bakery department, "Is someone seriously not going to come over and help?" "It's not problem; I just need to ring the bell again or something," Adri stated, pressing her hand against the silver bell once more, only for a young blonde woman to come from the back of the department. Smiling at Adri and Tyler, she rubbed her hands covered in flour on her white apron, "I'm sorry for the way; how may I assist you?"

"Hi, I need to pick up my little sister's birthday cake," Adri announced, watching the woman revert her eyes to the computer on the right side of her. "What's the name?" she asked. "Adrianna Felix," Adri said, referring to her full name as she took out the cash she had gotten from her bank to pay for the cake. "I see your name right here! I'll go get the cake from our back," the woman smiled, walking towards the back of the department to retrieve the cake.

"So your name's Adrianna?" Tyler asked, breaking the silence between him and Adri. "I like to be referred to as Adri, but yes, that's my name," she smiled, "I'm sure you know that I know your name."

Tyler licked his lips slowly and smiled widely, looking off to the side for a second, only to look back in Adri's eyes, "I'm really bad at keeping things lowkey, aren't I?" Adri let out a soft giggle, shaking her head, "No, you are. I took a real good look at your face and recognized you; I mean, I did bump into you, and you did pull me back over to you, so."

"Right," Tyler mumbled, rubbing the back of his neck softly as he kept the same smile on his face once he heard Adri's laugh, "Your laugh is beautiful." "And your smile is beautiful too," Adri complimented, causing Tyler to smirk. "You think so?"

"I mean, I wouldn't lie."

The blonde woman came back from the back of the department with a big white box in her hand, setting it down on the counter. Adri turned her attention to the woman as she opened the box and showed Adri the cake; it looked delicious.

"It looks amazing; thank you so much!" Adri exclaimed as the woman rung her up. "It's no problem, honey. That will be $30.65." Handing the baker two twenty dollar bills, Adri shook her head as she watched the woman gather her change, "Keep the change please." Looking up at Adri, the woman gave her a heart warming smile, nodding softly, "You have a nice day." "You too," Adri smiled and watched as the young woman walked back into the back of the department.

Taking the cake from off the counter and into her hands, Adri started to make her way towards the exit, only to be blocked by Tyler. Smiling up at him, Adri shook her head, "Tyler, move. I'm already late."

"Not until you agree to have dinner with me tomorrow night," he commanded with a sly version of his famous smirk on his face. Adri bit down on her bottom lip, "Take your phone out for me." Tyler took his phone out and went into his contact list so he could create a contact for Adri. Adri said her number out loud to Tyler so he could type it in his phone, for her hands were full because of the cake she was carrying.

After Tyler saved Adri's number in his phone, Tyler walked Adri out to her car to make sure she was safe. Adri put the cake on the floor in her backseat, closing the door afterwards and opening up the driver's door.

"So I'll see you tomorrow night?" Tyler asked.

"Yes you will," Adri reassured, getting inside her car and closing the door, rolling down her window, "Call me." Tyler nodded slowly as Adri gave him her version of a smirk. Tyler backed away from Adri's car, watching her back out her parking space and speed her way out of the Stater Bros. parking lot.

He couldn't wait to see the beautiful melanin goddess the following night.

i hope you liked it, adri!
