When we finally made it to town, I sighed. The trip had been long as I'd expected and my feet were killing me. My booted feet trudged through the dry green and yellow grass, wind blowing my brown hair behind my shoulders.

"Dawn, we're here!" Jack called back to me.

Walking to stand beside him, I looked over the hill and out onto the town that lay ahead of us.

"That's what Ev looks like." I said in awe as I took in the spires and tall buildings.

I felt someone watching me and turned to see Jack staring. A blush rose to my cheeks and I bit my lip.

"Come on, what you waiting for?" Tip said gruffly as she pushed past us.

I rolled my eyes in annoyance. That girl was really starting to get on my nerves. Jack smiled at me apologetically and trudged along after her. Following after them, we soon reached the town. The streets were cobbled and made of white bricks, lined with strangely beautiful shops and vendors. I grinned in excitement, taking it all in.

It looked just like Hogsmeade from Harry Potter! Jack had to pull me along to make sure I kept up, I was so in awe of it all. Suddenly, a horse whinnied and it almost trampled me but Jack pushed me out of the way just in time, his hands holding onto my waist. My skin tingled where he touched me but he soon pulled his hands away and walked over to one of the stores. I frowned but followed after him. Stepping inside, my nose was filled with all kinds of wonderful smells.

It was a food shop. Jack ordered for us after we sat down. Soon after, a waitress brought over drinks and food and we thanked her. Jack took a large gulp of his frothy pint, foam covering his top lip. I let out a giggle and he glanced at me in confusion. Gesturing to my own lips, he got the message and quickly wiped his mouth with the back of his sleeve, a light blush dusting his cheeks. He made a face at Tip then.

"What?" he asked her, "You don't like it?"

"I don't know," she sulked and I had to hold back another roll of my eyes.

"You've eaten the same food your whole life. It's gonna be different. Everything is," he told her matter-of-factly.

"Everything is," she repeated, shooting me a hostile glare.

"Okay, what is your problem?" I snapped, arching my eyebrows.

She made a face but said nothing. Smirking to myself, I knew I'd won that argument. She was sadly mistaken if she thought she was just going to push me around. I was not the type of person that would just bow down to her.

"I just want to get the medicine and get back to normal. I feel like I'm wearing someone else's skin..." Tip complained.

Jack nodded.

"I'll ask around. I'm sure there's an herbalist nearby," he said.

We sat in silence a moment, trying to finish our food before Tip spoke again.

"You wanna do it before you grow old?" she bit out.

"Yeah, yeah..." Jack said quietly as he got up from his chair.

I scoffed as he exited the shop, bag and pint in hand. Shooting daggers at her, I leaned in close before speaking.

"You should learn to be a little nicer, female dog." I hissed venomously before following after him.

The bells of the ship door tinkled as I stepped out onto the street again. Jack was walking down the cobbled pavement, the back of his blue coat and curly brown hair all to be seen of him.
