Before they knew it, it was New Year's Eve, and Ava and Draco were to head to the Malfoy's for the rest of Christmas Break.
That morning, Ava and Draco got up early and packed their things so they would be ready to leave after breakfast.
After breakfast, Ava carried Draco's duffel bag downstairs while Draco carried Ava's hogwarts trunk.
"Leaving so soon?" Jacob asked them.
"Yeah Dad, Draco's parents are expecting us soon by portkey," Ava explained.
Well, I guess we'll see you in the summer," her mom said, "Happy New Year hun."
They all hugged one another, giving out, "Happy New Year" and "I love you's". Then both Ava and Draco turned out the door to head towards the portkey.
"I'm gonna warn you now," Draco started, "Our house is going to be very intimidating. Also don't be offended if my father doesn't pay attention to you or gives off a signal he doesn't like you. And I'm going to be going to a lot of meetings but don't worry you won't be alone. You can bond with my mother. And our house is called a manor for a reas-."
"Draco. It'll be fine. How bad can it be?"
Draco have her a half-smile, and grabbed onto the portkey. Ava followed and then they were transported.
Ava looked at a small house across the street from where she was standing.
"Draco that isn't that bad. It's only a little bigger than my house. Wanna head in?"
Draco almost looked embarrassed before he said, "Uh, love. That's not my house. Turn around."
"What are you talki-" And then she saw it shadowing behind her. It took her breath away it was so large and dark. It had almost a gloomy cloud over it. And it was huge.
"Come on, this way love," Draco said taking her arm, leading the way as Ava gaped at the huge house in front of her.
"Why didn't you tell me?" She asked him.
"Tell you what love?"
"That you live in a bloody castle!"
"I told you it was called Malfoy Manor."
Ava still couldn't process it when they walked through the front door. She was brought back to her senses when Draco yelled to his mother, "Mum! We're here!"
She saw a skinny woman with blonde hair just like Draco's walk into the main entrance.
"Good morning Draco. I suggest your travel was safe."
"Yes Mum. Mum this is Ava. Ava this is my mother." Draco replied.
"Nice to meet you," Ava said, going to shake her hand. She was surprised when Narcissa gave her a hug. "Oh!" Ava said startled.
Narcissa quickly released the hug and said, "Your father's here somewhere Draco. Lucius! Lucius, Draco is here with his girlfriend!"
Ava heard light footsteps so she looked up to find a man with long, platinum blonde hair walk into the room. Ava gave him a slight wave as he watched Ava's every move. She was slightly embarrassed when he ignored her and turned towards Draco, "You have a meeting in an hour."
"Hello to you too, father," Draco mumbled.
Lucius looked Ava up and down again and then turned on his heel and left.
Narcissa turned back to Ava and said, "Don't worry about him. He's just stressed out with the Ministry party tonight."
"Well Mum," Draco spoke up, "Ava and I are going to go take a tour and then go up to the library to do the rest of our homework. Tell father I'll be down in time for the meeting." Then Draco turned and went up the stairs, hand in Ava's.
