The Letter

Ava stalked off into her dormitory after learning her friends had made bets on her love life. Of course her best friend, Ginny, had won. She knew her too well.

Ava knew she needed to write her family before any of her many siblings had gotten to it first. Her parents and even Justin would be so hurt if they found out she hid something like this from them. She got out some parchment and her ink and started writing:

Mum, Dad, and Justin

I hope all is well at home. I miss you all a ton. I'm really excited for quidditch to start. We got a new Dark Arts teacher, but she is dreadful. She refuses to use magic, which doesn't make any sense to me. How are we supposed to learn to fight if we can't learn how to properly perform a spell? But, I'm trying to bite my tongue. I know Cass is frustrated with it. Especially since I hyped up the class so much.

So, the real reason that I'm writing to you is because I wanted to tell you I met someone. I know you lot know him, which is what scares me the most. And I know my stubbornness will really show when you hear who it is. I'm dating Draco Malfoy. I know, I know, I swore I would never like him, but I promise he's changed. I really want everyone to meet him properly so you can understand what I've found most sweet and kind about him. Maybe he can come during Christmas Break? I know he would want to meet everyone and especially be in a different setting. He says he's fascinated with our family, you know with him being an only child and all?Just let me know mum and dad!

I can't wait until I can give you a hug again! I hope you're keeping busy and you're not too worried about us here. Love you all! Write back please!

Love, Avs

P.S. (For Justin) The attached parchment is from Cass. She got her first mark back from her Charms class and she was so excited to show you. She says it's her favorite class!

At the same time that Ava finished her letter, her little sister Cassidy burst through the door. "There you are! Ginny said you would be up here. When are you ready to send Mazie?"

"I actually just finished my letter so we can head down to the Owlery if you'd like?"

"Oh my goodness, yes!" Cassidy exclaimed, practically jumping up and down.

Walking towards her door, she said to Cassidy, "We should probably ask everyone else to see if they have anything they want to send?" She nodded and they headed to each of their siblings rooms.

Alicia and Allison weren't in their dormitories, Maddie simply said to "send them her love," Joey quickly wrote his own letter and handed it off to Ava, Cameron and Cody laughed and then said they sent them something earlier (definitely should warn Mum and Dad about that), and Alex quickly closed the door before they could even come into his room and said very fast, "tell them I said hi."

After making their rounds, they headed for the owlery. Harry, Ron, and Hermione were still sitting there when they went by, with Ginny no where to be found. She nodded at them and kept on walking. Before she reached the portrait hole she turned back to them and said, "Hey Hermione?"

"Yeah?"

"Will you help me with my Transfiguration homework in the library this afternoon?"

"Of course," Hermione smiled at me.

I turned on my heel and stepped out the portrait hole towards the Owlery. They walked all the way up to the tower, attached the parchments, and sent Mazie off. Before Ava could hardly even say goodbye to Cass, she ran off when she spotted one her friends. Ava laughed, but kept walking. Half-way through her walk, she decided she should check on Lucy so she headed towards the hospital wing.
