...Shashank and his family left the party just after some of the guests and arrived home all in conversation about how well the party was. They all made their way to their rooms while Puneet stopped Shashank for a moment and asked him to sit with him for a bit.
"What's wrong Puneet?" Shashank asked him as they settled down on the sofa in the main hall; "...Is everything okay?"
"Bhaiya...I wanted to say quite a bit since you made this decision but I just never knew how to say it..." Puneet started.
Shashank looked closely at him; "Do you want to become the Head of Sanjeevani?"
"What??" he looked up in shock.
"Is that what you want...you want me to put your name in?" Shashank asked again.
Puneet shook his head vigorously; "No way Bhaiya...that's not what I wanted to talk about...and you know I never liked serious work...I'm a hands on person...give me a plank of wood I can make you a chair...I can be a carpenter...a plumber...an electrician...but when it comes to suit and ties...files and money...I'd rather stay away..." he laughed.
Shashank smiled; "Then what did you want to talk to me about...you looked very serious..."
"Bhaiya...I wanted to talk to you about Mayank Bhai..." Puneet said and looked at how Shashank's expression changed instantly.
"Puneet...I think it's quite late...we should both go to sleep...it's been a long day..." Shashank was about to get up but Puneet stopped him.
"Bhaiya its best if we talk about it now...if we don't things will get worse..." Puneet told him.
"There's nothing to talk about Puneet..."
Puneet was now facing him; "You are blaming yourself for this...and it is not your fault...these riots were bound to happen...they would have got hold of him in any way possible...we never said it but we knew that these people were not going to keep quiet...they would not let him live in peace...he was better off in America..."
"Yes it was clear that it would happen...somehow or the other...they were going to kill him...and it's all bec..."
"It's all your fault...you killed him...you killed my dad...you planned for it to happen that way...you wanted him dead!" Rohan shouted, he had just entered the house and over heard their conversation.
Both brothers were now standing; rooted to the spot as Rohan's accusations echoed through their minds...
...Aysh was in her room lying on her bed thinking of the wonderful evening she had had with the love of her life; Guru. She knew that she would not be able to sleep tonight; whenever she had an eventful day the thoughts kept playing around in her mind making her loose her sleep. She sat up in bed with a huff and thought of what she could do.
"I don't feel like reading today..." she sighed then looked over at her phone; "...as much as I feel like calling and talking to him I can't...I can't just disturb his sleep because I can't sleep...that's not fair..."
She got out of bed and strolled around her room before walking over to the window and looking out; "Seriously..." she frowned; "...even the moons not out tonight...what should I do?"
She walked over to her cupboard to see if there was anything interesting for her to do; her eyes landed on a pink box at the top shelf and smiled to herself; she pulled it down and took it over to her bed, she took out some of the items and smiled as she saw a photograph of her and Naina when they were teenagers; "Miss you Dii...miss our good times..." she whispered to the photo.
