...The next day everyone seemed as if they were mourning; the five senior doctors who had been laid off had left as well as the ward boys and nurses. There seemed to be an eerie silence as Sameer walked through the corridors early in the morning; he made his way to the gym for his morning session with his patients. As he walked through the corridor he peered through the staff room and received a shock; he quickly opened the door and rushed in.

"Kavya?!" he called out as he rushed over to her; she was lying on the sofa fast asleep. He crouched down beside her tear stained cheek, she had cried herself to sleep.

He shook her gently and she woke up startled; "Huh?" she called out as she jumped up and looked around; "Sameer?"

"Kavya...what are you doing here?" he asked in concern; "...Did you have an emergency last night?"

She shook her head as everything came back to her; "No..."

"So you just slept here...you didn't go home last night?" he looked at her closely and she nodded with tears forming in her eyes; "What's wrong Kavya?"

Sameer stood up and sat beside her; he placed his arm around her shoulder and she rested her head on his; "Sameer...I'm so unlucky..." she cried; as he was about to reply she carried on; "...everyone ran away from me...no one wanted to marry me...just when I thought I found my Mr. Right...even he left me...Rohan broke all ties with me...I won't ever know the feeling of love...just when he told me that he loved me his whole world turned around...his life changed and even though to the world we were a couple...only I know we weren't...we never spent a single moment alone...we never spoke about our feelings...it was like we were forced into a relationship that he didn't want...but he never told me..."

Sameer held her close and allowed her to speak her mind; "I'm sorry Sameer...I'm so unlucky that even because of me your relationship with Kajal broke...it's all my fault..."

"Kavya don't say that...it's not your fault..." he tried to make her understand; "...it was just a misunderstanding..."

"Because of me..." she cried.

"Listen to me Kavya...it was not your fault...none of this was your fault and don't ever say that you're unlucky..." Sameer told her; "...this was supposed to happen and it did...it is not your fault...do you hear me?"

He looked damn serious and all she could do was nod and accept it; he carried on; "Kavya...let's just forget everything that's happened and make a new start..." she looked at him curiously; "...our parent's wanted us to be together right?"

She nodded uncertainly and he continued; "Then let's give it a try...let us be together...we can work things out right...we can make our Special Rishta work...we can be a new couple...what say...will you be my girlfriend?" he asked with a bit of a comic touch to cheer her up.

"I don't know Sameer...my destiny is for me to be alone...I don't want to ruin your life..." she said.

He frowned; "Don't ever say that you are supposed to be alone in life...you're a great girl Kavya...you have a wonderful personality and you are an amazing doctor...your future will be bright...I know as of now things are rough but we will make it better...just give me this one chance...please..." he held out his hand to her and she looked at him with tears in her eyes; "...please..."
