Chapter 15

Hey everyone...thank you so much for all your comments on the questions I posted on the last part...a lot of it was very close to what is actually going to happen next...so well done!

...Kavya gulped and held his hand letting him go on; "...But I'm the unlucky one Kavya...I never had my father's love when I was growing up...and when I finally received his love...he left me...I pushed everyone away and now...I have nothing...I've lost everyone...after seeing you again today...I don't want to lose you...I need you..."

"Kavya..." Rohan looked into her eyes; "...I know that you tried to help me...you talked me out of it so many times but I refused to listen to you...when you were right all along..."

"Matlab?" she asked slowly.

"I was played...brainwashed to go against my family...at the time I believed it all...and they planted this revenge into me..." he told her.

"Who did...?" she was curious.

"Avi...he did it on behalf of Vikram...to make me hate Dr. Shashank...he wanted me to get Dr. Shashank behind bars..." Rohan said; "...it was his revenge that he wanted me to carry out...he made me think it was all for my own sake when really he was going to get what he wanted..."

"I don't believe this..." Kavya said; "...when did this happen...why didn't you tell me?"

"It all started when Avi introduced me to Vikram at Dr. Shashank's farewell party...he told me that he was really sorry to hear about my dad's death and how it all happened...he dropped hints to me pointing out that it was Dr. Shashank who had purposely taken my dad out of the house that day and he had planned for it to happen..."

"And you believed him?" she asked.

"I didn't...I didn't want to...all the way home from the party I wanted to get those thoughts out of my head...but when I walked into the house I overheard Dr. Shashank and Puneet Uncle talking about the same thing...they said it was bound to happen and I misunderstood them...Vikram's hints came back to me and it didn't help..." he sighed.

"Then what...?" Kavya asked; "...you sided with Vikram?"

"I wanted revenge...I left the house and thought of every way possible to get him behind bars but nothing came to my mind...I came to work the next day and Avi told me that Vikram is his uncle and can help me to become the Head of Sanjeevani and then I can ruin Shashank..." he told her.

"How?" Kavya asked.

Rohan sighed loudly; "He said if I became the Head I could plant files to show that Shashank was responsible for certain deaths and he would be put in prison..."

"What?" she was shocked; "...And you agreed to that...that's why you asked Sohan to put your name on the list of candidates?"

"Yes I did..." he nodded; "...but I wasn't thinking...it was not me...I was being brainwashed..."

"So what happened to your plan?" she asked.

"I was in...but it was not my plan...they made me think that they were doing it for me but the truth was that they were doing it for themselves..." he said sadly; "...Vikram wanted to see Dr. Shashank behind bars for being unsuccessful on his dad's heart surgery fifteen years ago...he believed that Dr. Shashank had killed his dad..."

Kavya couldn't believe what she was hearing; "What?"

"He had no proof and he wanted to make sure that he became the Head of Sanjeevani so that he could tamper with the files and send him to jail...this is why he came here..." Rohan went on; "...and I helped him to a certain extent...but the day before the board had voted on who would be the new Head Sohan had found out about Vikram's motive and made sure that he didn't win..."
