Disclaimer, I do NOT own the song above (I wish), the band Get Scared does, but hopefully that's pretty obvious. I just really like this song and it somewhat fits the atmosphere of this chapter.

Suki's Pov:

A loud shriek echos through the room, and I snap my head up to find out why.

A couple of feet away stands a brunette soaked in what I presume to be water and soup. At further analyzation I recognize that the girl is Eshima Sakurai, and that the person who accidentally spilt those things on her is Emiko.

Knowing this isn't gonna end well, I jump to my feet and get in between the two, though I know Emiko won't do anything.

The brunette glares at me and growls out a command. "Move out of the way, so that I can teach your friend here a lesson she so desperately requires."

I scowl in return and reply, "I highly doubt that Emiko ment to spill anything on you. She isn't like some people."

The girl before me gasps then yells, "do you really believe that your friend here is so innocent?! And why do you always happen to get in my way and look down on people?!"

I narrow my eyes and stare right into the beast's eyes. "Yes, I do believe she's innocent, and yes I get in your way at times. However, I do not look down on people as if I'm better than them. That is your job."

Everyone in the room seems to widen their eyes at my words, but I keep my glare focused on Eshima. We have a staring contest for another few moments until it's broken by a monotone voice I know oh-so-well.

"The two of you outside, now. You will both settle this in a dual."

My green eyes snap over to my captain who looks to be staring into my soul. I slowly nod my head, and Eshima does the same.

We make our way to the training field followed by the other mages-to-be and a few captains, including Captain Endo.

"You both know the rules, so there's no need for me to explain them to you. Just remember that the dual starts when I say. Got it?"

I nod, "got it captain."

"Yes, sir," she breaths out.

We continue glaring at each other, never breaking eye contact, for we know that if one of us does the other will have the upper hand. Captain Endo studies us because of this; however, he dares not utter a word, knowing that he could easily change the course of this dual.

"You both may now...begin!"
