Suki's PoV:
"The first thing we are gonna do is work on your endurance," Raiden explains lightly, as if the meaning behind his words aren't there. Whatever is in store for me is going to be extremely painful and will test my limits.
I have a sudden urge to question him. However, I clench my jaw shut tighter before stealing a glance at my new found soul mate. He smiles calmly at me, but I notice the tenseness in it along with the rest of his body.
He's nervous too.
My palms grow sweaty at the thought. I know that I'm not ready for what's about to happen if Tyler's like that. I just know. I feel it from him. His anxiety hidden under the surface.
"To begin, you are going to run for as many laps as you possibly can. Particularly until you drop."
I stare at him in utter shock before letting out a long sigh of annoyance. I stretch so that I won't pull a muscle. After I do that, I take off running laps around the gigantic room.
As I near the end of my fifth lap, my sides are burning, and I've built up a nice layer of sweat.
I am going to kill him after this-or later when I feel better!
At the end of my eighth lap around my stomach is turning, threatening to release whatever is still in it after my long sleep. By my thirteenth lap my knees wobble, and I finally crash to the ground.
"Suki?!" Tyler yells out, running over to my side. He lifts me into his lap and wipes the sweat on my forehead away.
I mumble, "thanks dude," and close my eyes after.
I'm so killing Raiden.
When I open my eyes again, I realize that I had fallen asleep in Tyler's lap. My face heats up, and I look around. I'm back in my bedroom. A sigh passes from between my lips as I sit up.
Glad you are finally awake, Suki.
Oh, yeah, thank you...ya know? I've never asked, but do you have a name?
I'm called many things; however, I do not have a name similar to how you humans do.
That's...kinda sad actually. Hmm... how about I give you one?
...I wouldn't mind that. Go ahead.
Okay...something that's not too pet-ish or human-ish...hmm. Oh! I got it! Kane. It means "golden" in Japanese, and fire can sometimes be golden. It's a human name but it fits.
That sounds lovely. Thank you, Suki.
You're welcome, Kane.
I smile to myself. I did something good.
