Suki's PoV:
"First object: a pair of slippers," Haruka simi-shouts from the other side of the door.
Well crap! I guess here goes nothing.
I've spent about ten minutes bumping into things, trying to find some stupid slippers. She didn't give me any warnings or hints at all. I have zero knowledge to work with, and it's starting to push me to my breaking point.
I growl, "this is so stupid! How is this going to help me? I'm just walking around blindly...guess I know how my brother feels."
You have a brother?
Y-yeah...I'd rather not talk about this. It brings back bad memories.
Okay, that's fine. You can share with me when you are ready to.
Thanks.
I smile at his understanding then focus on finding those slippers. I crawl on my hands and knees, searching the best I can with touch.
"Aha! Found them!" I shout, jumping up and waving them in the air. A smile graces my lips as I celebrate my victory.
"Oh? Really? You finally found them?" Haruka asks teasingly from the other side of the door.
"What's that supposed to mean?!"
"Nothing, nothing at all. Alright now, come over to the door."
I do as she says and walk over to the door, or at least where I think it is. Haruka opens it just a crack, hardly enough to even see into the room. I hold the slippers up to the light and discover that they're fluffy, brown, and a plan design.
She takes them from me and says, "the second object: a candle. If you are able to find this in less time than before, then you will be allowed to use it to find the others." The door shuts right after.
"Okay, I'm on it."
I turn back towards the interior of the room and take a deep breath. Although this might irritate me, I'm still going to try my best since this is a part of my training.
I think I felt it not long before I found the slippers.
Once again I stumble through the pitch black room trying to find an object. I reach a hand up and touch a dusty surface. I glide my hand over it then knock something over.
Crap.
At least we know it wasn't glass.
True.
I bend down and pick the object up. A grin appears on my face as I announce, "Haruka, I believe I found the candle."
"Then light it."
I roll my eyes before conjuring fire in my hand that isn't holding the candle. As the fire sheds light throughout the room I am able to see once again. I'm in a dusty room, surrounded by older things. I look in my other hand and see the candle.
I need to find something to put it in.
I look around the room, carefully analyzing for things I could use. There's glasses of different shapes and sizes but non I can use.
Forget it. I'll just use the fire in my hand to find the others.
"Next object?" I ask the Sage, putting the candle back on the table.
"Third object: a classic painting."
I pause. "...what?"
Haruka replies, "a classic painting. There's only one in there, so you should be able to find it with little trouble."
Well damn.
I shake my head. I move over to the closet, open it, and look inside. Clothes. Just a bunch of clothes and shoes.
"Uugh!"
"Everything alright, Suki?"
I growl, "everything is just peachy."
