Fourteen : Harry

Management were being absolute little bitches. They had me cornered backstage before sound check and were grilling me about Saffron.

Do you love her? Are you dating? Have you kissed? Have you had sex? Do you think you’ll ever date? What’s happening? Have you crossed the line we gave you yet? Has she told anyone about you? Are you sure she’s not playing you?

I was trying really hard not to raise my voice but they made it insanely hard. I didn’t really know how to answer the questions because I wasn’t really sure what we were. Sure we’d kissed but we hadn’t done it since; we were just stuck in the in-between world where we flirted but didn’t actually do anything more.

It wasn’t until Louis came and saved me that they let it drop. Not before saying, “Don’t cross that line.”

When Joey and Victoria turned their backs, Louis flipped them off. I couldn’t help but laugh. Louis plonked down next to me and I sighed. He threw an arm around me. “So what's really happening Harry? You kissed the girl in New York but now what?”

I shrugged and ran a hand through my hair. “I don’t know. We’ve just been so busy we haven’t had the time to sit down and talk about it.”

“So you like her?”

I contemplated lying but I knew that would get me nowhere so I nodded. “I really like her Louis.”

He squeezed my shoulder in a brotherly manner. “Then tell her that.”

“I want to wait for the perfect moment,” I admitted. “I need to be smart about it with the press and management looming. And what about that fan yesterday? That was a close call.”

“Indeed it was. That just shows you can’t get overly excited like you’ve been doing when Saffron’s around.”

I laughed. “I can’t help it!”

“I know mate. So is she coming tonight?”

“Yeah,” I replied as I fiddled with my battery pack. “It took a bit of convincing but she’s bringing Darci and Coral. I got them access to that VIP section where only competition winners have access too so she’ll be right next to the stage and not amongst the pushing girls."

Louis eyed me carefully. “Okay mate, just be careful. Don’t act any different because she’s going to be in the crowd.”

"Can't make any promises," I joked.

Rolling his eyes, he clapped my back in finality. We stood up and went to the front of the stage where the others were. Joey was giving us directions so for the rest of the afternoon we were engulfed with rehearsal over our concert to celebrate the end of our 1D Weekend.

The crowd cheered for us and a rush of excited anticipation surged through me. Me and the boys ran out on stage where we were meet by a throng of screaming girls. “Hello LA!” I yelled. “How are you all?”

They screamed back and I laughed. Liam started talking and I subtly found myself looking for three certain people. As soon as I saw them, my face lit up into a smile. I quickly gave them a wave and a goofy smile. Coral jumped up and down and waved back, screaming her little head off. Saffron, however, rolled her eyes at me but I knew she was fighting a smile. I poked my tongue out at her then to cover my tracks; I diverted my gaze to a few other fans and started making faces at them too.

I noticed Saffron looked good tonight; well she always looked good really. She had an edgy style that managed to always look so clean cut. Those were Lou’s words anyway. I think half the reason she adored her was because of her sense of fashion. Tonight was no exception though; she was wearing a black skort that showed off her skinny legs, a knotted blouse, and of course, her trusty boots. We were similar in the weirdest ways.
