"question 1, what is your favourite food?" Ryan asked me. I looked up at him and giggled at his eagerness. I can already tell that we are going to be good friends.
"Hmm, that's tough.... Probably pepperoni pizza" I replied. I grabbed the milkshake from his hand and taking a big sip. He looked pleased that I had taken a sip. He was about to answer when we heard a quite impatient and angry "excuse me". I looked up and a middle aged women was stood by our table with her arms crossed. Her dried lips were in a straight line and she looked extremely annoyed.
"sorry can I help you?" I asked in the most polite voice I had which was very rare for me to even use a polite voice.
"can you move that...wheelchair. It's getting in many peoples way and its very annoying." she said in a snooty voice. This woman is going to get the wrath of the Amber.
"do you know what is getting in my way and is annoying me? You and that sour voice of yours. I would of actually moved if you had been a bit more considerate of my situation. But guess what you you horrible woman I am not moving now. Do you really think I enjoy sitting in this stupid thing when I could be playing football or having fun like other kids? So you can either go another way or find another table or maybe even leave because I do not want to hear anymore rudeness coming out of your mouth. Now goodbye" I said with a very serious and angry tone. Her face had gone bright red.
"well uh..." was all she could say before she speedily walked out of there. I looked back at Ryan who had leaned back in his chair and a large smirk was plastered to that face.
"well done beautiful, you took that and dealt with that in an awesome way" he replied leaning over and high-fiving me. I high-fived back. It really did shock me what she said. Our world today is so stuck up and arrogant.
"thanks, I hate how people can act in such a terrible way towards other people. People need to remember the phrase 'treat people how you would want to be treated'. It's just so disrespectful" I replied to Ryan. He took my hand and smiled gently at me.
"don't listen to what other people think because you are a beautiful person inside and out, come on I better take you back home" Ryan said getting up and wheeling me out after he had paid.
The walk back to the hospital was silent...but not that awkward silence you get it was...peaceful. Without realising I started to sing 'love is easy' by Mcfly.

Do do do do do do do" I sang. I heard humming behind me and I realised that Ryan had started humming the tune behind me.
"Wow Amber you are amazing at singing! Do you do music at school?" He asked me curiously.
"Yeah that and football...well used to do football" I said as tears formed in my eyes. Firstly this car accident took my sister, the only person I really truly needed to look after as being the older sibling. And now the only thing I enjoy about school...my football. Tears began to stream down my eyes as i started to sob uncontrollably. Ryan quickly stopped as ran round in front of me and leaned down.
"Hey, hey I don't fully understand what you are going through right now Amber but you are being so mature and brace about it all. But once we get that new leg on you, you can play football to your hearts content ok?" Ryan reassured as he gently wiped away the tears that were slowly sliding down my cheeks.
"Yeah you're right" I replied smiling at him.
We arrived back at the hospital a few minutes later and my mum was eating by the car. When she noticed I was coming she smiled at me and opened the car door for me to get in.
" it loos like you two had a good time" my mother beamed. I looked up at Ryan and he winked. Instantly knowing not to mention the lady in the café.
" it was lovely thank you Mrs Fitzgerald, when is Amber coming back to school?" Ryan asked sweetly marking me giggle quietly.
"You're father said by next week" my mother said to Ryan and he nodded in reply.
"Brilliant, I'll come over in a few days to see how you are getting on. And we'll walk to school together ok?" He said.
"Definitely, I'll see you soon" I replied as he hugged me.
Maybe just maybe school won't be as bad as I think it will be. We will just have to wait and see.
