The party dragged on. Parties weren't really Sarah's thing, but Sean enjoyed coming to them, so she would either cling to Sean or hang out on a couch somewhere. Tonight, the taller boy was no where to be seen.
Sarah didn't mind being alone too much, but it was getting boring. The drink in her hand was halfway gone, and the music was starting to give her a headache.
She decided she'd walk around a bit, maybe to find someone to talk to, or to find Sean. The house was pretty big, but the amount of people here made it seem small.
Suddenly, someone grabbed her arm, pulling her off to the side. Sarah gasped slightly, her drink sloshing around in the cup.
"Why are you all by yourself?" It was Sean. Sarah pulled away to find him with a confused look on his face, a drink in his hand as well.
"You walked away from me?" She replied, a hint of sarcasm in her voice. Sean's face softened.
"I'm sorry, babe. You wanna leave?" He asked, setting his cup down on the floor and wrapping his arms around her waist.
"No, we don't have to. I just couldn't find anyone to talk to," she didn't want to make Sean leave just because she was lonely. But she had to admit, it was getting pretty boring here.
"No, I feel bad," he grinned, kissing her forehead, "come on." Grabbing her hand, Sean pulled her towards the living room. Just as they were about to walk out of the door, someone grabbed Sean by the arm and pulled him back.
"Where are you going?" It was someone who Sarah didn't recognize. His breath smelled heavily of alcohol, and both Sean and Sarah grimaced.
Sure, they were at a high school party, but this dude was really, really drunk.
"Why, Thomas?" Sean asked, squeezing Sarah's hand slightly. Thomas shook his head, mumbling something inaudible before he took off in the other direction.
"We don't have to leave if you don't want to," Sarah said slowly, giving the taller boy a look meaning she meant it. Sean sighed.
"Well then, let's go find somewhere to sit down in peace. This house is unbelievably huge, there's gotta be somewhere we can go," he sighed.
Sarah nodded, even though Sean had already turned around. He started pushing passed people who were dancing. His grip on the smaller girls hand was pretty tight, but Sarah didn't want to get separated.
"Come on, the door locks, and there's no one in there," Sean said, pulling Sarah towards a room that looked like a small living room. All it had were a couple of couches and a tv in the corner. Sean closed the door. You could still hear the music, but it was blurred out.
"That's better," Sarah smiled, taking off her sweater. The couple sat on the couch, immediately snuggling up close. Sean played with Sarah's hair, almost putting her to sleep a couple of times.
"Did we just come in here for me to put you to sleep?" Sean asked jokingly, chuckling when Sarah sighed, her eyelids drooping slightly. He kissed her forehead, making Sarah warm and comforted.
"You know I love you, right?" Sean smiled lovingly. His hand slightly lifted up her shirt, just enough so that his fingers could rub her tummy softly.
"I know you do, and I love you too," Sarah yawned, her smile inevitable.

I've had a really crappy night and writing this kind of lifted my mood haha. I hope you liked it Sarah :) @lucky1824
